Due to a work conflict I may not be able to caravan at 9am. I'm still going though!

I am trying to fit the ultra cool KEG cooler in my car and I think it is a NO GO! So I either bring the bf's big ford truck or someone has to bring something or I can squish in a garbage can, like in the past...
quick--give me your opinions!

I think a garbage can will be fine if you can fit it, I don't really feel like making the trek to milaca tonight.

Matt - got the chair.

Thanks for the list - this is my first time camping since my very first time when I was about five years old...so I'm clueless. :D

I got a flashlight @ Target tonight...however, I'm an idiot and forgot the stuff for smore's. We are hitting Bob's on the way out tomorrow morning so I'll get the stuff there as much as I can.

Thanks for all the planning & coordination of the camping trip Jess!! I enjoyed the day/evening, but night time camping is not for AJ and I. :D

Yeah, I had a blast up there that first day and then the first part of today. The night, in a tent, with no chance of sleep due to those frogs... ugh, that was a long sleepless night for me.

Otherwise, great site/location with a great group!

I'm going to go put my feet up, it was worth coming home early, cause they are looking light blazin hot friend chicken!

Whew that was a fun weekend! Thanks again Jess for taking the time to locate a great camping spot and set it all up, things like the golf cart and the dock setup made the trip even better than I was expecting. I can't wait to go again next year. Maybe if there is a hotel nearby AJ and Jana can still join us next year hehe. You guys missed one hell of a light show last night.

I think Nanami and I still need some practice to get all the camping essentials for two packed into a compact sedan, but I have fun trying... haha. We had a great time, and I'm already looking forward to the next camping trip. (Hmmm, I wonder if we could get an early and late summer trip going next year)

I think we're getting down a pretty good recipe for what makes a good camping site too... Water nearby with pontoon rental is total win. The one downfall to this place was that the sites were arranged linearly, so it was a little tougher to get everyone hanging out together--but otherwise it was a great spot. I'd even keep this one on the list for next year because of all the stuff to do and the nice quick drive up and back.

Yeah, location wise it was really nice! Golf course, Golf cart off-roading, being pulled in the tube and not being able to get back in the boat (that was fail, lol), the fudz, the booze, the football, the flotilla... for the day we where there, we had a blast, no regrets on our end. Well, other than not putting sunscreen on my feet that first day, oh man!

I do want to try and do Itasca again, or something cabin like, but who knows, as long as we have a tent we may try again. lol

I would totally try again...perhaps one requirement could be no bullfrogs nearby? :D

Did it storm or just some good lightning??

We got about 15-20 minutes of decent rain. Would've been a good night to fully test out that new tent! haha

But yeah, like Matt suggested, a location with a hotel/motel or even some rental cabins might be a good consideration for next time. I know tenting it isn't for everyone, but that's just a small part of the fun on these trips ;)

Had an absolutely great time all weekend long! I really liked having the water nearby, and though the wildlife was "diverse" it made the experience that much better. I loved seeing a bald eagle circling at one point, and watching the ospreys diving into the water to catch fish. To me the only downside of the weekend was the damp firewood which made having a nice warm bonfire impossible, and the roughly 30yr old pontoon that looked like it was literally rotting on the water...lol It made the weekend that much more memorable for sure. The campground tenants seemed to be very respectful of one another too. No loud parties and quiet hours at night and in the morning were honored by everyone. Hopefully people will post up some pics soon. I'll try to get some of ours up in the next day or two.

Well Alan says our group was very well behaved and we are welcome to come back anytime!! Great job everyone! We not only had a spectacular time but we were all respectful as well. You don't always get that, but then again, we are the best group ever!!

As far as our necessities...I am agreeing-water, boat, group spot, etc. I am thinking next year we will head south/southwest and I will try to find a place that has other accomodations (just in case).

Aj and Jana, for sure you should try again...there will always be something that is annoying but that is what you deal with in nature.

Thanks again to all of you as well for such a great time.
