I usually bring the trash can. I can do that again if no one else wants to. There would be more room in Nate's ride though. :)
Since it is kind of in the boonies, Hinckley Fireside Liquor might be the closest main store, but I am not too sure. If you want my help figuring it out, let me know. I am up for a keg...just nothing too dark as it is more filling. ;)

I forgot that we just acquired an old freezer turned to keg cooler/holder so if you want me to bring that, I could. I think it will fit in the car. Supposedly it is just right for a 16 gallon.

Did we decide on a time to leave? I took Friday off as well, we just need to confirm our sitter (ie MIL) will be up Thursday night.

Would 9am be too early? Seems like most of you guys are used to going to work really early, and if we meet at 9 we could probably get to the campground and get setup in time for a late lunch. Just a thought.

Perhaps a quick survey would be in order with several meet times in case people don't want to come right out and say 9am sucks...lol

How can 9 am be too early???? :D I'm game for that (AJ, call your mom) so we can get there early on Friday and enjoy a full weekend of camping (first time....nearly ever).

Oh, another question - where is the best place to get a decent tent without spending several hundred? I really don't want to spend much on a tent for the once/twice a year it'll get used, but also don't want a POS that won't last more than one use.

Couldn't find yours huh? lol. Target is pretty decent. Fleet Farm might be a good choice too.

No, and thinking back...not sure we did buy one. It's sad that I can't remember, but it wasn't anywhere in the house or garage. LOL

How much would you prefer to spend? With tents you do get what you pay for to a point but at the same time you can get decent values. Try and read some reviews and get something that has a decent rain-fly and a footprint (or just use plastic for a footprint)

Also I was going to suggest 9am also, it's not really that early and it will get us up there and checked in and everything before lunchtime.

110 HP of FURY!
Let's just go to Dicks and get one of those $60 tents with two rooms so you can keep your girly shit on your side and I can vomit on my side. k?

The Coleman tents seem to get really high marks and Fleet Farm has a couple for around $120 http://www.fleetfarm.com/catalog/pr...cessories/coleman-11-ft-x-10-ft-evanston-tent

So, now I suppose we need to figure out what's going IN the keg?....or is that not a group decision (it's my first mnmazda camping trip, so plz excuse my cluelessness).

Way back, in the long long ago, I was a big proponent of Honey Weiss. But that got shot down in favor of ____ Light (or Lite, as the case may be). In the end I guess it was kind of a moot point because those podunk town booze stores don't carry much else.

I suppose it makes more sense to buy a barrel when we get there, and you're right, they'll probably only have Miller Lite, MGD light (either Michelob or Miller Genuine) and maybe Coors or something. Leinenkugel's should see about making a Honeyweiss light, but as much as their regular Leinie's Light sucks, it probably won't happen.

I'm not too concerned about the beer anyway, because I'll probably drink very little of it. Sailor Jerry FTW!!

Well, maybe we should take a poll of who will actually be utilizing a keg. If everyone's going to be drinking something else, we might as well make it BYOB. And really, the only fair way to divide the cost is to have everyone who plans on partaking of the keg chip in an equal amount.

If there are less than 8 people who plan on having something other than beer as their primary source of liquid refreshment, then we should look at a half-keg with a little BYOB as backup.

I for one will be filling my glass from a keg if it's there.
