Where would you go?

So here's the situation - you have two free plane tickets to use and you happen to have some vacation time this winter, where do you go for a winter getaway assuming you want to go somewhere warm, and why?

This isn't limited to the USA, can be international.

Mine:

Jamaica - Awesome beaches, interesting culture, beautiful waterfalls and other sights, Jerk Chicken (NOM).

St Thomas or another of the Bahamas - Snorkeling / Scuba Diving, Beaches, etc.

I'M OFFENDED!
US Virgin Islands- no passport needed.

Bahamas- Everything is cheap and awesome.

Japan- It's fucking Japan. Everything every one of us likes is all there in one spot. Gaming, sushi, and cars.

Also- Las Vegas. 24 hours of any entertainment you can think of, and if you're smart, it's actually a really inexpensive vacation. It's also one of the few places both Taya and I would be happy in for more than a day or two.

I would go to Dubai, simply for the fact that it looks like a cool place to visit and its not the typical place everyone goes to (i.e. Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, ect.)

Australia - some friends there, plus i'd like to do some sight-seeing

Japan - for reasons already mentioned

Hawaii or Alaska - have yet to visit another state that isn't part of the lower 48.

Here are my ideas.

Washington State
My Reason: I live there, the space needle is cool, and I live there

Boston
My Reason: Sure it's not the warmest but I went to Boston two falls ago and it was really nice, not too touristy. Also, it's a beautiful city!

California
My Reason: Google's head quarters is there, it's sunny and warm, and you could go to the silicon valley microcenter.

Venezuela - 2 of the last 5 Miss Universe winners are from Venezuela = facking HAAAAAAAWWWWTTTT chicks on beaches...total WIN

Italy - Tours Ferrari and Lambourghini, not to mention the history of the country and the food is safe and incredible. Downside vs. Venezuela, the dollar sucks against the Euro vs. Bolivar

Costa Rica - off-the-beaten-path, jungles and beaches galore, great bang-for-your-buck and it's way more unique than Italy.

Last idea, consider visiting the country your ancestors are from, because visiting relatives in a foreign country (or countries) would be pretty cool and interesting.

Iceland: to visit relatives on their own turf

Germany: autobahn and the ring

Awesome guys, I love all the ideas, has given me some ideas to check out.

Germany and Italy would be very high on my list but would be much better spring/summer destinations than winter. Mexico / Jamaica are tempting due to the all-inclusive options, however something like Hawaii and other more exotic locations (Central America, Brazil, etc) would be a lot of fun I think.

A cruise line would be a solid option as well. If you get the air fare to and from for free, you save a decent chuck if you book locally at a port (so I'm told) versuse a package that includes airfare. This would we high on my list to get to multiple locations and get to break out the flippy floppies!

A few cruise lines have the dress code with a couple of the formal dinners, but others, like Carnival, don't require anything at all for a dress code. We are looking at a a cruise as a next vacation.

Cruise crossed my mind, I do eventually want to take one (never been on one) but I'm kind of leaning towards going somewhere I might otherwise not go due to airfair being quite expensive. Jamaica is high on my list right now due to the all-inclusive resort options, I might be able to get Australia to work which would also be awesome, but I think I'd need to have more days due to how long the trip there and back takes so that may make that difficult.

I'm also considering going somewhere domestic (Vegas perhaps) and then going to Germany/Italy in the spring/summer....decisions decisions. Love all the suggestions though its fun looking at different places around the world and things to do there.

Yeah, the airfare is usually less than normal when bundled in a Cruise package, so a single all inclusive destination would be a good route. One things to look at with resorts is construction and repair due to tropical storms, I've read some really bad reviews for a number of places that have had lots of work going on and it didn't ruin the amenities, but the views and sound aspect.

Jana and I just spent 5 days in San Fran and that was so much fun! The Piers, north and south wine country, hwy 1, and loads of random shit to do and see. If you havn't been there, could be another spot to do.

Go to Canada and be an ice road trucker!!

In all seriousness anywhere warm will be awesome. Mexico, Costa Rica, Virgin Islands, etc. Anywhere like Italy or Greece would be awesome. Australia or New Zealand=awesome.

Just take pictures!

I would actually LOVE to go to Alaska and drive the Dalton up to Prudhoe Bay, but not in the winter lol.
