Hey, I was just taking these puppies for a test drive before next weekend... to make sure I've got it perfect when I'm cooking for you guys.

Hmmm. Not bad for the first time around...might wanna marinate them longer for the next batch, tho. A little tough and flavorless on the inside. But still good!

Marinate them, and cook them SLOW. Start in the oven or crock pot, and then finish with a quick sear on the grill. That'll make ribs that you'll love.

I think it's just because you had them after they'd been sitting in the fridge for 4 hours. They were pretty tender fresh off the grill.

Starting in the crock pot's not a bad idea though.

We don't have any apple juice.... I wonder if Angel's prune juice would work? She loves that stuff, but I don't think a 2 pound ferret is going to drain a half-gallon bottle anytime soon.

Unless Codie likes it, too...but it IS a huge bottle--that was the smallest size they had! Angel was less than 2 lbs, she's so tiny!!

Gosh, now I'm craving apple juice...

Is cooking with apple juice good for the same reason why some people eat pork chops with apple sauce? I guess that makes sense...

Shoot, I was out all afternoon and I didn't even bring home apple juice. So when is everyone coming over? What day and time?

Ask Jay, he seems to have this planned. Cooking with Apple juice makes the meat a little sweeter, and actually does a really good job of keeping it tender. Something about sugar and whatnot.

Taya yes, Bandit, he could be convinced to go. Although with him it's more, grab him and stick him in a box.

We might have to keep Codie in his cage while Bandit's here (which is no big deal) but other than that, good to go! Speaking of cardboard boxes, Codie ripped his apart in the car ride over here yesterday and it's officially useless. He ended up chewing out the side holes to make them bigger and got out. I had to drive home with him crawling around in my car. Eventually, he found a nice cozy spot on my neck and just stared out the window the rest of the way.

Yeah, that's how Bandit and Monster were. We never put Susie in a box, she just stared out my sunroof the whole time.
