Hello and welcome to 2013!

Time to start up the forum-wide event thread where everyone can post ideas for events and a place to come for an overall view of events to come. There are already quite a few events in the works...

-Itasca camping trip
-Stocholm cart racing

Then of course we have to official annual Mnmazda events...
-Spring cruise
-Spring bbq potluck
-Allignment day
-Spring and fall detail days
-Tint day

And a space for other event ideas...

put me down for hosting tint day in the spring again.

I think we need to do a mnmazda golf outing, i have an idea on how to make this a day.. ;)

I would definitely be down for a golf outing! I will put it down on the list. Fill me in with any plans you have for that and we can tag team it.

I've only been golfing a couple times, but I'd be down for it...and if I enjoy it enough, may have to make it a regular thing.

Hitting the ball is the hard part. You won't generally have a problem finding it, because you won't hulk out and pull a 300 yard drive.

Definitely up for golf and the other meets around here for sure.

Not sure if we want to keep this thread to just MNMazda events, but it may not be a bad idea to add C&C (first Saturday of the month from April - October 8-11am) and the GarageGeeks Sonic meets (start and last day varies) for people that may not be in the loop.

Ah yes. I meant to put those Wednesday meets in here as well as cars and coffee. Once everything starts to get sorted I will make a sort of calendar on the first post.

And sounds like we actually have some strong interest in a golfing meet. If we could get 3 or 4 foursomes into it we could make a fun little tournament best ball match out of it. I know I could find a few other people to fill in the empty spaces as well. I will get a thread going for it in a while so we can discuss date and location and everything.

Best ball is the only way I've played so that works for me...putting definitely not my strong suit...lol....not that I can smash a ball 250-300 yards either, but I can get it out in the right direction.

Well that's what's nice about a best ball scramble. It kind of brings the teams to an even skill level. I played in highschool and I know a couple others with a decent skill level so each team could have at least one decently experienced player.

Best ball sucks imho. But sounds like "My Money" is taking lead on the golf so I'll just wait for that to pop up. I just know that I'll end up on the golf course more this year, probably improving my drinking game as much as my golfing game! :)

I think paintball would be a great event to do. Think it would be fun to get a group of us together and make a day out of paintball and maybe a bbq after.

Paintball sounds like a solid idea, Dan and I went a number of times last summer and I'm sure we'll be out more next year - so you could count me in.

Since many on here have been picking up firearms lately, perhaps an event here may be worth looking into as well, depending on whether guys have handguns or shotguns etc. Trap, skeet and sporting clays all require shotguns, but the indoor pistol range may be of interest to folks that don't own a scattergun.

Another great idea...I really have no interest in owning any guns right now, but I would love to start going to the range and trying out different handguns to see how it is. Might sway me into buying one later on...plus I'd like to get my carry and conceal just because.

someones itchen to try out their new toy! ;)

I think we need to look at some of the outdoor gun ranges as well, for those of use with rifles. I have a 4th toy in the works. :)
