So I was thinking how about we try the new porkys for a few weeks and see how we like it for our wednesday meets.

WOW! Being from Detroit it seems so odd. Establishments went crazy when muscle car clubs chose there business to hang out at. It seemed to bring all the non-car owners into the place as well. When I googled porkys I came upon this quote from a fourm: "F Porky's...you know as well as I do it'll be nothing but muscle cars and tuners...you know, if all of us MN hot rodders would actually get together with each other and become a community, maybe those places wouldn't be overrun with crappy cars and crappy people..."
Sounds like grandpa's got a bug up his ass that porkys isn't a seniors-only joint. When I googled porkys I came upon this quote from a fourm: "F Porky's...you know as well as I do it'll be nothing but muscle cars and tuners...you know, if all of us MN hot rodders would actually get together with each other and become a community, maybe those places wouldn't be overrun with crappy cars and crappy people..."
well put.It amazes me that the hot rod guys are like that. Face it, the big 3 don't make a solid "hot rod" platform anymore. All they were trying to do is go fast, and then muscle cars came along and they wanted to go fast, and now there's the sport compact movement, with people taking cars.... and making them go fast. And as with any car culture, styles/visual mods evolve along with the culture, some stick around, some don't. Thankfully, we lost the whole "giant wing" fad for the most part.
