Speed Racer The MOVIE

so, i was at the movie theater the other day and i saw a movie poster and it was speed racer the movie, and i was like "huh, hmmm..." i have mixed feelings i dont know if it was a good idea to make a speed racer movie or not, but here is a trailer for it

I dinno, Uwe Bol isn't directing it, so it can't be THAT bad.... plus there's been some wicked pics of what the live action cars will look like.

I saw some previews awhile back, and it didn't intrigue me much.


Also, movie remakes of classic video games/TV shows/comic books were novel for awhile, but I'm getting to the point where (to paraphrase Nate) they can all eat my ass. I'm not about to plunk down 10 bucks of my hard-earned money just on the idea that some jackass couldn't dream up his own idea and decides to try to play on my nostalgia instead.

The ideas have been done. The stories have been done. So really, all they are offering up is some spiffy CGI and maybe an interesting "interpretation" of the style of the original. That all gets old pretty fast.

The concept is cool, but I think it needs to be done in cartoon format to live up to the original. Pixar should have done the remake.
