Eh, if you ask me there's only so much weight that should be given to this issue. It's one man who may or may not have had a large influence on Obama's life. I prefer to leave the spazzing out over 10-second soundbytes to talk-radio hosts. If this is the kind of issue that ends up making or breaking his campaign, I'd say that's a sorry commentary on the ability of the american people's collective attention span and ability to think beyond what the media tells them to think.

Personally, I'm over it. I wouldn't want everyone judging me based on the most outrageous people in my life, so I'll choose not to do that to Obama.

My issue is with Obama and his reaction, and need for reaction in this case. I don't think it's fair to blame someone for what someone else says. I've belonged to a church for 20+ years, but am I responsible for everything that's been said by the pastors there over that time? At the same time, alot of what came about what his pastor had said, would shock and offend about 90% of Americans. Obama should have distanced and cut himself off from this guy as soon as that became public. He didn't, he stuck a little to much with him. Did he know this guy was going to spout out like that again? I don't know. Should he have known? Hell yes. And now the fact the he has to react once again, instead of being proactive and getting in front of this, greatly weakens his chances for election in November. He should have know what this guy was like and could do. I'm going to start giving Hillary another chance, even with her BS about that snipper shit.

The coverage of this campaign is so focused on non-political bull and media knitpicking everything either candidate says/does that it's lost all credibility.

And threads like this prove it. Like Jay says, the media chooses what to cover and focus on and beat you over the head with.

Look at the candidates, their platform, their ability to speak and think on their feet, and what their goals are for the future of the country. Leave it at that and ignore the 24 hour media hype on the "news" channels.

I actually like Obamas latest move to disown his pastor. It seems like he has found out the this man is not his true friend after all and it's time to end that association in his life. When this pastor says he wil "come after" Obama if he is elected prez it shows you that this guy was never Obamas friend to begin with. I know that I have had fake friends before and I didn't know how they really were for a long time so I considered them my friends when I shouldn't have. Obama has been nothing but loyal to this guy and he just gets staabbed in the back by him. So good for Obama. This solidifies my support for him.
