Yeah I liked 300 enough to get the bluray of it...wow its amazing in HD. Any see superbad? I loved that movie. If anyone likes just stupid humor the movie idiocracy was pretty good in that respect, lots of dumb 1 liners.

Idiocracy was good for what it was. Unfortunately most that saw it went in expecting a duplicate of the gem that was Office Space, and that just didn't happen. It was a good movie on its own, but not when compared with the writers previous effort.

I was kinda unimpressed by 300. For whatever reason, I was expecting it to have something of a plot. But in the end, nothing that any of the characters do seemed to be of any real consequence to the movie. Maybe it was just that all the hype raised my expectations or something.
Yep. I thought I was the only one who thought 300 didnt live up to the hype. I think thats part of the issue, it was made out to be this incredible movie.

Judd Apatow is overrated.

40 year old virgin = mediocre
Knocked Up = mediocre
Superbad = Disappointment

His movies have a few decent laughs but that's it. Not well written comedy. They rely to heavily on the characters swearing and talking about bedroom antics for shock value. It's been done before a lot. And done better. (i.e. There's Something About Mary, American Pie)

And Superbad went from a promising opening about geeks bringing the life to a party (only truly funny part with McLovin) and got lost in a weird, random world of cops acting crazy and another unrelated house party. It was like it started off as one movie, got lost in another movie for an hour, then returned to the original movie for the last half hour.

Comedy movies kinda suck right now. They're so formulaic and stuck in buffoonery/shock you with smut humor that they aren't really very funny. And if I see another Wayans Bros "_______ Movie" get greenlighted I'm gonna puke.

Rant over.

I HATED Knocked up. I laughed precisely twice. I asked the RedBox for my dollar back.

I thought 300 was decent. But the one thing about it that pissed me off was one of the quotes from some critic they used; "The most ground breaking film since The Matrix". Personally, I love the first Matrix movie, and it did completely revolutionize what an action movie could be.

300.... Not so much.

Knocked up is one of the most overrated movies out there. I can count about 3-4 scenes that were actually laugh out loud funny.

I liked Knocked Up because it is almost a carbon copy of how I became a father. So i really liked it.

You didn't listen to the one funny line from the movie then did you.

"Everyone knows that, that's just gravity"

LOL.

Yeah, that I heard. I was too busy being bored with the rest of it to get a solid LOL out of it though.

I totally get what you guys are saying about 300...pretty much any movie based on real history can't hold up when compared to movies based on imagination, because imagination can take a movie literally anywhere the writer wants to go. Braveheart is a good example of that too. It was a movie about a real person and about what really happened in his life and ultimately the hero dies a horrible death at the end, whereas had that movie been completely fictional it's highly unlikely that the ending would be the same.

Saw Matador over the weekend and that sucked hard, and I saw Fracture again and it has a nice little twist at the end, although Anthony Hopkins has played the killer so many times it's starting to get old.

I love the movies with a twist and my favorite "twist" by far was in 'Identity.' LOVED that movie....loved...wow

Ok, I will do few movie reviews.

First up is Into the Wild this film was exellent. It is about a guy who just graduated college and has the need to just get away from all the materialism and socital pressures so he burns his money and ID cards and set off on a road trip accross north america with his ultimate goal being to go to alaska. As he hitchhikes around he meets many interesting charicters and makes friends with different people along the way. He also has to do odd jobs along the way since he burned his money. Overall I highly reccommend this movie since it gave me a joyfull and fresh perspective on life and it is one of the greatest movies of 2007 two thumbs way up. This movie is based on a true story and directed by sean penn.

Second we have No Country For Old Men Another good movie. This film is about our hero who discovers a bag of money while hunting from a drug deal gone horribly wrong and a ruthless hitman who is dead set on finding the money and killing all who stand in his way. Good movie full of big stars like tommy lee jones and woody harrilson as well as a new up an coming actor by the name of havier bardem. I reccomend seeing this movie just to see what the buzz is about and you will probly enjoy it alot.

Third we have Michel Clayton starring george clooney. This movie is straight garbage and you will feel as though you just wasted 2 hours of your life. Is it just me or is every movie clooney is in trash? I do not understand why people like him as an actor he has always dissapointed me in films.

Fourth we have In the Valley of Ellah I really enjoyed this movie and deffinently reccommend seeing it. The main charicter played by tommy lee jones is the father of an AWOL marine who just got back from Iraq. So he starts looking for his son and uncovers a gruesome discovery. This was a great movie that really gets you thinking and it is based on a true story. Two thumbs up, great acting, check this one out.

Babel, more trash in film form this movie was better than the clooney flick but not by much. Thumbs down. Hard to describe the story really it was all just kind of bizzare.

We Own the Night was already mentioned in this thread but I enjoyed it. Good story line, good acting a solid flick. Stars wakeim phoenix and mark walberg. Is it just me or is mark walberg a pretty solid actor he rarely dissapoints. Thumbs up.

Darjeeling limited this movie was meh. I guess that I just don't "get" wes anderson movies. Apparently this is similar in style to his other flims. This was the first wes anderson movie I have seen and it will probly be the last.

yeah... semi-pro= semi-SUCK, is it me or do wills movies now and days suck major donkey balls, movie is about a ex-singer from buying a basketball team and they are about to to a merger of the aba with the nba and his team is not in it.

the thing i have realized is that actors who think they are superior in eveysingle way than every one and think that whatever comes out of theyre moth is gold and try to only do "political" movies or something with a "meaning" usually end up sucking majorly.

Will Ferrel has always sucked. With the exception of Talledega nights, there is not a single Will Ferrel movie you could pay me to see. Old School was great right until he was in it. The rest, I can't even be bothered with. I find it somewhat miraculous that the man still has a career.

Will Ferrel's a funny guy. Most of the movies aren't. It's all in the writing. The ones that are written well (i.e. Old School, Elf, Talladega Nights) are funny movies.

The ones that aren't written well (Anchorman, Kicking and Screaming) suck because they are trying to rely solely on Will Ferrel being crazy Will Ferrel. Which cannot carry an entire movie. It could carry a SNL sketch, but not a whole movie.

It's the same with most any SNL comedian who moves on to movies. Adam Sandler anyone? Wedding Singer = Good because it's well-written. Little Nicky = FAIL because it's poorly written shlock.
