My first porky's meet was a good time. Set up an appointment to get tint on Mon. now the question is 35 or 30% im still not sure how dark i want to go. hopefully i will be able to make it out again to show you all the new tint!

The answer is 20%. Go any lighter and you won't notice it. I have 20% on my speed 3 and I still want to go darker. (It is black BTW)

I'd vote for 20% on the black MSP as well. I think 35 would be good for lighter colors, but I'm betting Johnny Law won't single you out much with 20% on black.

I had 20% on my 3, and even though I was initially worried about interior visibility, it wasn't an issue at all, even at night.

Very true. I've been eyeballed by the man several times with my tint, and not one of them has said a word. I think that the dark color makes it look lighter, so the cops thinks it's a lot less illegal than it is.

Tom, do the '04 stock tails match with the '07 speed LED tails? I would trade ya if they do!

alright thanks for the advice. i had always thought that the lighter tint on a dark car made it look darker, but i guess i was mistaken. Another boring day at work = a lot of time on the forums!

I got a ticket for 20% on my black GTO, and 20% on my red 6. Thats why I went with 20% on my Speed3 :) as long as its not more than once a year I'll live with it. 20% will eventually probably get you a ticket, but anything less just doesn't look that great IMO.

I would say 35% is plenty dark. You get much darker than that and your night vision is substantially compromised. It may not look as cool, but visibility is more important.

Yeah, I have 35% and I am happy with it. I can agree that its not all that dark, but I like it. I know I wont have issues with cops and still get a nice look. But, I have a white car, so I am sure it looks darker than it may on yours.

Got the tint this morning, went with 30% and i think it is a good compromise between looks and visibility. I am going to try to make it out this week but have to work so might not get off in time to make it worth going.

So I've had 32% on my car for over a year now...no issues at all with local police...they've been behind me, beside me, and never a flinch of pulling me over.

Well, I was on my way back from southern minnesota about a month ago, and I passed a highway patrol near St. James on Hwy 169/60, and he immediately turned around, and gave me a fix-it ticket for the tint...couldn't believe he actually whipped around, and pulled me over just for the tint. I had my mobile GPS in the car, and I was going 67 in a 65 zone, so I knew it wasn't for the speed.

Needless to say, I won't be taking the tint off...local cops don't seem to mind. That county mounty must have been bored that day. He even mentioned it looked good on the car, but was too dark, so he had to pull me over.

Strange.... I got pulled over one night for speeding in IGH, and the cop didn't say a word to me about the tint. And I went all the way to 20%, so it seems odd that that officer would go so far as to hop the median to get you for tint. He really must have been bored.
