I'm open as to where, but I would GREATLY prefer somewhere other than BWW. Old Chicago also has an Eagan location, or Red Robin in Apple Valley...

If your trying to suggest that BWW in Roseville is the north metro, you fail. It's pretty centrally located to everyone. I ended up going to a movie last night so I couldn't make it. If It's in Eagan and I'm at work late enough ill be there next week, however if I manage to leave at my normal 3ish I won't be driving back down that way.

I would consider Roseville to be in the North Metro as it is north of Minneapolis and St. Paul, just like Richfield would be in the South Metro. I also think due to the lack of uniqueness of the place, a rotating location is fairer than a single central one.

I've no qualms with swapping locations week-to-week, just saying that making the south location Applevally or even Eagan and then saying Roseville is in the north...is shenanigans.

I agree with James... It's certainly not that far up there, but it is north of the big cities.

Schmitty suggested mapping out the locations of members with frequency of attendance and just pick something in the middle of the map, but that's a little ridiculous I think.

Here's my opinion on the matter. MOST of the people that are usually there are from the south side of town. We all drive to Porky's all summer long because it's a unique location. Now that Porky's is out, there's no reason to make a majority of the people who are attending drive further than the minority. Arguing that it's centrally located is all fine and dandy, but it's way out of the way for most people going.

I'm down for something in the Richfield/Edina area, or SLP too.

The problem in your thinking Dan is you are assuming that location plays no role in how frequently some people show up. I'm honestly not a huge fan of Porky's food, and I can't have a beer there, AND it's a hell of a drive for me. Move that wednesday meet somewhere up north (equally far away from minneapolis as apple valley or eagan is if thats what your thinking) and to someplace that serves decent food and beer, and see how much more frequently I show up.

I can't promise the same will hold true for other members, but just assuming the reason the 'regular' crew is who it is, has nothing to do with location, is probably not real accurate.

I think thats why moving it around the city to 3,4, 5 different places makes a lot of sense, not everyone is going to drive to all of them but it'll get a lot more people out (IMO). Also moving it to once or twice a month might also help how many people show up. If it's EVERY week it's easy to just pass it off but if it's only once a month people may feel more inclined to show.

I like the idea of rotating places because of the issue that not everybody agrees on what constitutes "decent food", as well as a greater diversity of experience and food... and a way to even out the driving.

Due to the generally greater cost of these places, particularly due to the large importance some people are placing on the availability of alcoholic beverages, changing the frequency to biweekly or monthly also makes sense to me... as it gets pricey for an every week addition to the budget.

I was all for rotating the location, but Jay seems to think that's a bad idea. I'm also in for making it a bi-weekly thing as well.

I'M OFFENDED!
I second the moving it further south idea. BWW in Eagan would be acceptable, as it's on my way home, on lukes way home, is right by where picklz works, 10min from Adrian and Craig.... you get the idea.

Can we find a place that does happy hour from 2-6 or something? lol... Cheap (and good)beers ftw.

The chick at BWW last night new this. I asked abotu specials and she said "Well, it's happy hours, so domestics are cheap." I asked for her definition of domestic, to which she replied "Oh, you know, all the beers that taste the same."

I lold, then was sad when my tall honey weiss was $5 :/
