Mafia game 5 - GAME IS ON!

We need to lynch scum, not just "someone." What's the point in playing if you don't want to win?
The problem is, with everyone trying too hard at the moment (Yes, it's too hard) to determine who is scum by nitpicking stupid little things, it's impossible to draw any real conclusions. There needs to be something REAL to react to instead of frantically searching for something that MIGHT eventually lead to something that MIGHT let you make a coin flip as to whether or not someone is scum.

I'd love to win. People like you are making it difficult. :D

The teams were chosen first. 2 scum were chosen using random.org from the list of 9 players. Once I had the teams of 2 scum and 7 town I did a 50/50 roll for each power role to determine if that power role would be used in the game. Once I had the pool of power roles which could range from 0 to all 6 I then used random.org to determine which player had each power role, given their respective teams.

The problem is- all we have right now is nitpicky crap. No one's left enough on the table to make a real case out of anything. AJ's flub on wanting the power roles out in the open is about all we have.

It MIGHT lead to lynching scum, or it might not... you are right. However everyone sitting around with their thumbs up their asses isn't going help either. Aside from finding scum, we are also finding town. Statistically we have a 28% chance of lynching scum if we choose someone at random. However if someone stands out as obv-town (obviously town), that goes up to 33%. Two obv-town goes up to 40%.

Would you prefer to post images and discuss movie quotes for a week and then choose someone at random? If not, what do you propose we do to find scum?

Your math is scummy.

2 out of 10 is 20% chance. 2 out of 11 would be... less than that. Not 28%.

Unless you've already arrived at the conclusion that there are ~2 people that clearly aren't scum? If so, feel free to share.

Whoops, you're right... I fail at math.

2/7 = 28% (divided number of scum by number of town, not number of total players)
The following numbers are 2/6 and 2/5 respectively (based on the 2/7 starting point, reducing by number of obv-town because clearly we wouldn't consider them in the random choosing)

So it should be 22% -> 25% -> 28%.

No, you're still doing it wrong.

It's 2/11, 2/10, and 2/9.

When you're calculating chances of picking out the 1 black marble out of 100 total marbles, the math isn't 1/99, it's 1/100.

There are only 9 players total...

Also, trying to twist what someone else says to make them seem scummy is scummy in and of itself.

Right, 2 + 7 = 11, DUH.

Ok my bad, so we're both dumb right now.

It'd be 2/9, 2/8, 2/7.

I'm not entirely sure how you came up with the right percentages using the wrong equations. But... good job?

Now I am confused as fuck... but in any case, if we are able to determine one person is likely town, it increases our chances of lynching scum. Scumhunting is good.

I'm able to determine 7 people that are likely town. Random guessing is stacked way in my favor of being correct.

Me, Thom, AJ, Picklz, Andy, and two other people. (Who else is playing?)

Why do I get the feeling that both scum are on this list?
