Itasca State Park Cabin/Clubhouse Trip - Sunday September 8th 2013

Tauni

I'm confused.
I would like to camp if others are planning to. Kind of in the same boat as you AJ. I think Picklz and Kelsey were considering camping.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing the rest of the weekend as well. There's a chance Nanami might not be able to make it with me. If she does come, I think we're definitely planning to camp sat for sure, maybe fri, and we'd be open to meeting up with anyone else looking to camp as a group. If it's just me, there's a good chance I'd still camp on my own.

I should ad we are trying to figure out a sitter item for Lilli yet since now both parents are not an option. We have time, but that's really our only hang up on our end.

I was trying to keep Fri/Sat open as I have a short-notice wedding I'm needing to be available for - it's looking like that is going to happen in October now though, so I can probably commit to something at this point. I'm waiting to find out Kelsey's availability for Saturday, but I'd like to go up somewhat early Sat morning and camp one night if she doesn't have anything keeping her here on Saturday. And then anyone not camping can just meet up with those already up there on Sunday.

I'll try and get something nailed down in the next day or two.

If we can get something nailed down, I think it would be the most fun if we could caravan for camping as well - I think it adds to the excitement. Corey has Friday's off, so we can pretty much leave anytime after 5:30 on Friday, though I like the idea of going up on Saturday more. So once everyone solidifies their plans (hopefully sooner than later) we should plan out when/where to meet.

I won't be camping Sat at this point, though I might head to BIR to watch Dizzle race on Sat.

Alright Kelsey and I are planning on heading up Saturday morning, maybe around 8am or so and then camping Saturday night, so anyone who would like to go up a day early and get your camp on let me know, I'm going to check on camp sites and such tonight after work. Then I'd say those coming up Sunday could plan a second caravan if they want. Also there's still space for anyone else who want's to get in on this great trip!

And a friendly reminder that there are no cooking facilities or fridges or anything so bring coolers to keep your food and beverages cold, we can cook hotdogs over the fire, or if anyone wants to bring a grill we could go that route too. I'm thinking of going to a little Cafe in Dorset (20-30 minutes away) Saturday night for dinner, BEST broasted chicken EVAR!

We are going to be camping as well, down to head out whenever!

People this is a GREAT time all around! The more the merrier, and it would be a fun way to get to know new members (hopefully you stick around the site afterwards) (just kidding). Sign up now!!

Sadly our sitter options have fell through, with the big item being the Monday morning, we likely won't be able to make this. I might head up by myself, but probably not as I don't want feel like making that drive to and from myself.

We still have time to try and figure something out, but that's that for now. Might be worth looking at booking next year as well, just do a Sat overnight.

For those going - I need a list of who is wanting to go up Saturday morning and camp saturday night prior to the cabin shens on Sunday night. There are a number of campsites available and currently I'm looking at electric sites in the Pine Ridge Campground, Maple Loop, sites 195e-199e http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/state_parks/spk00181_camp.pdf

They are near bathrooms but off the main road. Cost is $28 per campground, 1 vehicle/tent per site. I'm going to probably just say everyone should make their own campsite reservations (can be made online) but lets get a list of people camping together first and figure out what sites to try and snag.
