Is it too early to put a CF hood on?

I picked up boomergt's CF hood this winter and am dying to get it on my car. Do I dare put it on this early in the season or should I wait a month or so?

FYI - I only drive my car ~5 miles a day with no highways just a few side streets to and from work.

The cold should not affect it, other than making it brittle in the case of an accident. I'd be more worried about snow getting all on the vent and getting into your engine bay.

forgot to add, I do have another car in the case that it does snow again, so it won't be seeing snow

yep, I've wanted one for 3 years now and when I heard Tom was selling his I had to get it!

I guess my biggest concern with putting it on right now is all the dirt and salt still on the roads.

I would wait, why risk getting the salt and sand all over it when you can just wait a month or so and know it will be good to go.

That's not going to affect it any more than it would affect your regular paint... as long as the hood is clear coated.

I'd love to, I'm just being cautious. I've never had a CF hood before so I don't know what it can handle (or can't handle).

Gotta remember, CF is like fiberglass. Your spoiler held up, right? Other than the need to detail your engine more often, I see no reason to not put it on now. If they use the stuff in bulletproof vests, it'll be ok on your car.

I dinno. I'd be wary about it. Better give me that hood to try out for awhile. I'll give it back if it looks like it will be okay for you to use. I'm just generous like that....

LMAO, I'd love to but...black CF on a laser blue would clash (my wife says no black with blue!)
