GT5 league... anyone in?

So we tried this last year and it was a relatively good time. So with the shitty season coming upon us, who would be down for a Sunday night gt5 point series league. Im thinking same model races to keep things interesting and up to the driving and tuning abilities. I have a couple buddies who would probably be down for it as well. so I can't imagine it would be incredibly difficult to get 8 of us or so together. Who knows, maybe even through some small change down on it.... :) who's in?

I'M OFFENDED!
Only if the cars are amusing. I wasn't a fan of RM everything the last time. Spec truck is fun.

I'm thinking cars that make things even and down to the driver. spec miata, spec truck, spec classics, etc. and leave the only options down to tuning the suspension and junk.

I think fastest lap in the red bull nucken futs car would be fun too. That thing is imposable to handle. .

Fine by me. Or even very similar groups of cars. Like... STi vs. Evo, have a set of mods or a PP cap for each car. Flip a coin to see which you get?

In terms of classics, the "Under 2-litre" class we've got going on right now is VERY competitive across a wide range of cars. Interesting to see the strengths and weaknesses each car has. (We're limited to 425pp) The celica i'm running (pink) is extremely quick in corners, but has no balls at all when it comes to straights. It could be a top 5 car overall, but i'm a garbage driver.

I may participate then.
DO EET.

I think we had two problems last time we did this:

1) Not enough participation
2) Shitty class choices (mostly my fault)

I second this ^^^.

If I can just hop on and race without having to spend too much time modifying a car I'd be game. Like you said, let the driving determine it.

I knew the pink one had to be yours. And the problem with PP limits is different cars use them differently. Which is what we did in our last series and we know how well that worked out. Laserblue destroyed everyone every race. lol. Even though we all had the same PP. I will try and get a few more people from elsewhere to get in on it.

I say we give it a first shot on Sunday night November 25th. That gives us plenty of time to figure shit out and get more people together. I say we hold each week to a vote between three different class races. So let's say - FACTORY Evo vs FACTORY STi race - Spec Miata (NC perhaps) - or FWD 4 cylenders with a power and weight limit.

The specifics of the class can be decided on once we know what we will run. And we con do the same voting system for tracks. So let's say between - Tsukuba - Laguna Seca - and Autumn Ring.

Oh and not make cut track penalties like 20 seconds long again. lol I think like 2 seconds is plenty. Especially if we are all running evenly matched cars.

Well that was mainly because the choices were too open. It was pretty much just "Ok 550pp annnnnnnnd GO!"

I'm saying limit the cars to a certain TYPE, and then slap a max PP on top of that. In all honesty, if we're all driving around in the same exact car, i'm pretty "meh" on that personally. Mostly because i'm weird and like using an oddball wherever possible.

Like i said, we aren't having a problem with our UTL class right now, and there's not a ton of duplicate cars.

Track cut penalties aren't determined by us, it's determined by the game. All you can do is turn them on high, low, or off. High and low give the same time penalties, but low has a bigger threshold before it slaps you. I vote just leave the cut penalties OFF entirely, and use the honor system.

If the official voting classes and tracks is what you've got there, i vote: NC Miata @ Autumn Ring

Well I'm not saying we would have to run identical car races all the time. for example the whole fwd 4 cylinder with power and weight restrictions leaves a LOT of options out there. Same goes for classics races, restricted FR races, BMW vs Audi races, etc.

With that my vote would have to be the Restricted FWD class @ Autumn Ring

That would actually be pretty fun lol. Actually the VW polo race in career mode is probably the most fun race I've done.
