Hello,

Just thought I would invite you all out to the German Car Fest Tomorrow morning!

Normally the car show is part of St. Paul's German fest but this year it has been moved to Veterans Park in Shakopee as it has grown to large!! last year we had 149 German heritage vehicles of all sorts there. New, old exotic, bizarre! Porsches, BMW's, Mercedes', VW's and much more! The usually have food and polka bands and its a lot of fun, Bring the family and come on out and join me!

Veterans park is on Hwy 101 near Valley Fair. As I understand it there is a slight detour due to road work. so here are the directions.

Directions

There is a bridge that is being rebuilt on Cty. Rd. 101 on the east side of downtown Shakopee. As our German Carfest is being held at Veteran's Memorial Park, which is just on the other side of the bridge being rebuilt, detour signs have been put out by the County that routes truck traffic south on a major road that takes you out to Canterbury Park and then back to Cty. Road 101. When you get back to 101 via that route, you would be near Valley Fair Amusement Park. At that point you would have to go left on 101 taking you back to Shakopee and the park. HERE IS A SHORTCUT!!! From downtown Shakopee, go east on 101 to end of town, at which point you would take a right on Marschall Rd. Go over the railroad tracks then get in left lane to make a left turn at stop light which will be 4th Avenue. Heading east on 4th Avenue for several blocks, you will come to Sarazin, at which you will take another left, now heading north toward 101. When you reach 101, go straight across road to Veteran's Park Entrance. YOU HAVE ARRIVED and saved six miles.

If coming from South Minneapolis area, simply take Hwy 494 to Hwy 169. Head south on 169 until you go over the Minnesota River, then get on Cty Rd. 101 for Shakopee. You are now heading west on 101 and will come upon Valley Fair Amusement Park. Just past the park a detour 101 sign will take traffic left going south toward Canterbury Park. DON'T TAKE THE DETOUR, BUT STAY ON 101 until you come to Veteran's Park Entrance, about 1 1/2 miles directly west of Valley Fair.

Gates will open for parking at 8AM, and German Car Fest starts at 9AM.

I was planning on going to eurowerks 2008 @ the old grain belt factory, this sounds fun too. Bringing the starship 8 series?
