While I agree that we all shouldn't be parking in the main lot for these, I think we'd also be cheating ourselves by not having one or two MS3's there. I think the point of the show is not to let rich assholes show off their cars, but to provide a good sampling of performance cars.
My opinion is that if I can see it at the dealership (like a stock Evo/stock MS3), It shouldn't be on the lot. If Its got something to show, then go for it, that's what people want to see.:ammo:

Wow, had a great time. Seeing all the cars was fun and whatnot.

On the topic of Miata's, I learned today that a stock MX-5 does some nice donuts.

Also want to throw a shout out to Josh and Shelly for hosting the little gathering at their place afterwards, had a great time.

THANKS.

What a kick ass day! Fun times! Cars and coffee was an amazing time, I can't believe how big it was! It was also a good excuse to get a $5 cup of coffee, LOL.
I was also introduced to Morries Mazda, I think they made a new customer out of me and shelly! I think there's going to be an rx8 in our garage come spring!
Thanks to everyone that came over to my place afterwards as well! That was some epic grilling, I see a larger grill in my future though!

I guess I lost track of the rest of you. Ran into a guy (they had the customized VW bugs) That I used to work w/ like 15 years ago when I was installing car stereos. He now biuilds & modifies VW Dubs for a living. Pretty cool!!!

The point of the show it to get wealthy people together and discuss there expensive fucking cars over coffee.
Yeah, I forgot, this is Minnetonka.

Then I guess about half of the cars there shouldn't be showing up either (I'm looking at you, riced-out VW's). They might as well impose a rule that states cars aren't welcome unless they cost at least $60k.

After having gone would you want to put your mazda on display? i don't think any of our cars would have fit in, much like the vw's you mentioned :)

I think it would be a good idea to at least have a couple of cars out there to promote the site. There were some cars, such as the VWs, that didn't really fit in, but maybe that just gives us a chance to get in there as well.

I still think it would be fun for everyone to go and park together. But not in the main arena. There were 2 coffee shops, and the southern one didn't have any exotics in it. I'd say that would be a good place for the mazda group to park.

I couldn't agree more. Perhaps zipipng an email to the organizers before the next meet to find out what THEY were hoping for with these events might alleviate the concerns of those whose opinions really don't matter. If the organizers only wanted the exotics, then they were doing a pretty piss-poor job of keeping less expensive vehicles off the lot, so I suspect it's more about being INclusive rather than EXclusive (but that's just my opinion and like all of us posting on here, our opinions don't matter since we're not organizing the events).

I certainly felt that there were too many plain-ole-stockers there that we could see in virtually any parking lot or highway around town. This minor disappointment was definitely outweighed by the many incredibley unique cars that showed up, and by unique I don't just mean those that cost 6 digits. On a side note: I don't care how much money you spent on your car, if you're going to show up at a car show and park in the main lot, then you'd better wash your damn car and clean the crap out of it. It took quite a bit of my willpower to keep from smacking some DB upside the head for showing up in his sweet-ass Porshe literally covered in bugs all over the front. He was already late, so the extra 15 minutes to wash the thing would have been worth it.

IMO, there were plenty of little corners here and there that a couple of non-stock/interesting to others Mazdas could park in that would allow the site to be represented in a great way, and even though all of us were parked in a lot across the street from the whole event there were still quite a few people looking over our cars (Jess and I both noticed people walking around our cars here and there as we were checking out the other cars at the event). I'll definitely want to go to this event again in the future. For those of you that like taking pics, getting there early is a must. The place filled up pretty quickly which made taking pictures much more difficult.

We'll if you google minneapolis cars and coffee you'll find all of the posts on porsche, vette, lambo, ferrari, etc forums. I would assume that would be their main interested. It's the same guy who posts the same message at each one though, so he should be easy to get a hold of.

I think that there should be "areas" there were 4 "strips" in that large lot, each one could be dedicated to a type of car. One for sports cars, one for customs, one for classics, and one for tuned cars. etc etc.

the main guy, called luis said this earlier today.

"Thanks to all of you that came out. We easily had over 200 cars there. Next time we will not be able to use either of the Caribou lots unfortunately.

From now on we will either use Jimmy's and the lot behind it or we will move the event to a different location which would be better as well. I'll keep you guys posted as that progresses. Post up more pics and stay tuned for Matt's video as he outdoes himself every time."
