EVO fun I had on 4/3/10

So I have a few buddies with EVO's. I'm jealous. We went to Ron's shop - RS Motors - for some dyno tuning. Here's what we drummed up:

2003 EVO 8 - mild bolt-ons, Kelford 272 cams - eBay FMIC - 1200 cc injectors - tuned on e85 - 28psi
Final numbers were 386awhp/382awtq on RS Mustang dyno - oh and he's got 115k miles!

2005 EVO 8 - mild bolt-ons, Kelford 272 cams - 600 something injectors (he was sold 760's but they definitely weren't) - tuned on 93 (or 92, can't remember) - 23psi
Final numbers were 315awhp/321awtq on RS Mustang dyno - 67k miles

Didn't get a scan of his dyno graph yet. This car is going to be a monster this year. He's contemplating throwing his 6262 set-up he had on his old 630whp Integra, or possibly an FP red or black set-up.

And now for Ron's cars
EVO 9 - stock turbo somehow managed to crank out over 400awhp/somewhere around 440awtq. Thing is just incredible

EVO X - pretty sure this is close to stock, no idea on numbers but DAMN it's sexy

I'm heading up to Rock Falls on Sunday, April 11th and the two black EVO 8's that were dyno-tuned will be running. I'm predicting mid-11's for the e85 one if his clutch isn't slipping - expecting a 117-119mph trap. Thinking the other EVO 8 on pump gas may drum up a high 11, or a low 12 at the least. Should be fun...

Buy an Evo already.

I'll be there with that group from EvoMN. Won't be racing, getting tuned the week after.

I completely respect the potential, but I'm out of that scene, and I don't need a year-round potential vehicle.

I'm actually looking to list my bike for sale today and start the serious pursuit of a C5 Z06.

Once you're making close to 400whp and have stiffer suspension the year-round potential of the Evo all but disappears. It isn't exactly a fun car to climb into when it's cold out.
