Figured it might be kinda cool to have an official thread for it.

Game will be released on 11/10/09.

Special Ops
Modern Warfare 2 will feature a cooperative mode entitled Special Ops, which consists of independent missions similar in design to the "Mile High Club" epilogue mission from Call of Duty 4.[13] These missions will take place in a variety of locations from the campaign mode, but are related to story of the campaign itself. Special Ops supports cooperative play for up to two players,[8] and can be played alone, in split-screen locally with another player, or online with another player.[16] It includes such scenarios as a snowmobile race, a battle alongside U.S. Navy SEALs, and fending off a wave of 50 enemies at once.[4]

Special Ops is divided into separate groups of missions with changeable difficulty levels. The third group, "Charlie", includes the mission "Breach and Clear", where the objective is to just make it to the end of the level. At the beginning of a mission, players select what weapon to use from several scattered around a room before the actual mission commences. Once a choice has been made, a nearby wall is breached and the mission begins. At the end of each mission, a statistics screen displays how long the player took to complete the level and how many kills were scored. Successfully completing a mission earns the player stars, with missions completed on Veteran difficulty rewarding up to three stars. These stars can be used to unlock further missions in the mode.[16]

Can you guys imagine the fun with sticky grenades and throwing knives in a private match? Oh man, cannot wait for this to come out.

I'm so getting this when it comes out. If there is interest I may setup a server and we could get some MNMazda matches going on. I love sticky nades lol, nothing like running in a room, sticking a nade to someone and hauling ass out lol.

EDIT: I should note, getting this for PC, as FPS' fail on Consoles.

I can't wait!!!!! Don't care what PCers say, XBL > than all for online play. I've played COD on all aspects and PC play for the average user just doesn't cut it for me.

I'll be taking a day off to just play this. You 360 guys should MOD the box!

Not sure what XBL has that PC doesn't, besides fubling around w/ a controller :p in any event it's gonna be a great game regardless of the platform.

I'm still playing COD4 almost every night, you should join up. I'm usually in a group of 4-9 people so it's always a good time.

lolplz, Lets hear some reasons other than "QQ I can't use a keyboard and mouse" which is actually irrelevant to the comparison between XBL and PC online play.

don't you have to have XBL to play any multiplayer game, and it costs money to use XBL, right? i might be picking up an xbox360 halo 3 edition for cheap pretty soon.

i'm a sony guy so i have no idea how XBL works

^ $50/12 month subscription. Sometimes you can find deals - mine was ~$35 on Amazon.

I don't have the necessary computer equipment to play the game, and all my friends play 360 so it was the logical choice for me and I haven't looked back.

PS3 online is free, doesn't mean it's good.

I find overall use and game play to be more enjoyable on XBL on every game I've played. COD, FEAR, Rainbow 6, and others. Strictly my thoughts.

xBox WAY cheaper than PC to run COD with good game play.... Argument flawed.

Regardless, LOTS of great games out now and coming through the pipeline! I'm currently loving Madden, Wolfenstein, and Section 8. With Batman and others yet to play.
