I'M OFFENDED!
Well, I do know it's a gigantic pain to do. I guess it'd be more if Bob (the port guy) wanted to keep doing them. We'll know more once we get the final numbers on my car.

Yesterday, i picked up the forge waste gate actuator at MAP! ordered my hawk hps front pads that should be here today. got homes and a cute little box with my turbo was on my door step. checked on status of the the cp-e standback. that will be here today!

couple more parts, brake fluid flush, radiator flush and another oil change and i should be ready to go!

Even bubb rubb approves!

standard ms3 problem. went to 3" tbe and the seals are going out. plus i got the turbo for $80shipped. cant beat having another turbo for that kind of price!

update 5/18

got everything that i ordered. got the standback, and the pnp harness was really weird looking. looks like the protegegarage standard harness that you tap into and wire yourself. gonna check the connections, clean up, shrink wrap it and sell it. ordered the actual cp-e pnp harness should have that on friday and installed this weekend along with the wastegate actuator.

brought the used turbo to diesel components down in burnsville and they are looking into a rebuild kit for it. dude says there is nothing wrong with it but since it was used id still want it rebuilt.

then once i get mo money for a 240 that i painted this weekend, here comes tuning! :66:

got the legit cp-e pnp harness. took like 2 minnutes to install after i called cp-e and made sure that i did not have to do anything else. put it all back together and started it up. you can really tell its trying to do what it can to make it better. car still kicks and overboost. so i need to get the wga in and get it tuned. ill update ya'll more the more i drive it. only put 4 miles on it the first trip!

so thoughts over the weekend. this cp-e piece is a amazing little piece! the car seemed to relearn itself quite a bit. the boost creep and cuts have minimized. car still pushes around 17-19psi. i really need to get the wastegate in! you can feel and tell how bad the wastegate is on our car. i can run the car half pedal it will boost up to 5-7psi run the car up to 3200-3500 and then the waste gate opens up and the car turns into some kind of scary beast that eats little children. the wastgate opens up and the boost automatically spins up to 17psi and the car just goes!

my buddy pete and I loaded the tuning software for the unit and the only thing he said is " I dont even know where to start!?!" the ammount of prameters and monitoring you can change and watch is amazing. you can set things like a primary and secondary boost levels, maf voltage, timing, ect. you can monitor in real time and data log for 40 minnutes.

all i can say is that im super happy that i got this system! i might not have the convienence of the ap, but i have a product that is backed by its company. cp-e=epic win!

glad you are enjoying the car and the cpe piece!
you are going to go somewhere for a more accurate tune or just small tweaks yourself?

I like that. "scary beast that eats children". Yesterday I was trolling along in 1st. Traffic starting moving quickly so I leaned into the pedal a bit more, blink, and I'm at 5.5k and caught up w/ traffic. Any children would have surely been eaten. nom nom nom

for the time being untill i get more fundage, ill be making small tweaks myself and then i plan on going to shane at db and getting a master tune put on it.

it is scary! when the wga actually opens on this turbo now it actually sounds like a big turbo with a external wastegate. its really hard to explain. but it sounds really bad ass! it amazes me what some tuning software can do to change the actions of stock pieces on the car! and how poor our stock wga's work!

I was hoping someone here in MN would be the first to upgrade their turbo. I'm glad to hear the SB is working for you, the lack of datalogging and price was what held me back (and I got a wicked deal on my AP). Do some logging when you get your LTFTs dialed in, I'd like to compare.

what do you mean by lack of datalogging?!? it datalogs for 40 minnutes! what does the ap do? not angry, just confused:confused:

I think he meant availability of datalogs showing before/after results. To prove how much hp/tq it creates, AFRs, torque curves, etc.

But is he saying that the cp-e unit does not do it? cuz it does. im pretty sure it does all those and also does realtime. and has this crazy boost map that covers psi, rpm and a/f.

in anycase. yeah this thing does lots o data logging/monitoring. im running a usbcord into my car for laptop hookup!

Ahh, then you're pretty set. That wouldn't have worked out well for me from a convenience and price perspective. The SB + P'nP + Dashhawk would've set me back upwards of $1,200. I got my AP for like $450 just before ATR came out, so now I'm working with a tuner and getting some mild tweaks done...and surprisingly for free. My logs are looking pretty solid right now too.

I haven't seen many SB logs, and you guys hoard your tunes to yourself so get on it and let me see some numbers! Any more plans??
