Wellp. If we don't get at least 5 people confirmed by friday im just gonna cancel this.
And if we do go, I wont be taking the Miata. Lol. No heater controls, and rs3 plus cold equals no.

Cancelled due to the fact that A- it's gonna be fucking cold, B- performance tires hate cold, and C- not enough confirmed registration.

Friction generates more heat than ambient air can provide. If 47 is considered "fucking cold" we may as well rename the site FLMazda and move down south. Yeah, i'm buttmad.

You forget the fact 47 is the HIGH lol. It's gonna be below freezing in the morning. And tire grip isn't really the number one reason it's cancelled.

I wanted to do this but I can't make it this Saturday 10-6. Also, I'm not driving the Speed6 right now as the other day out of the blue, I got a Po303 - cylinder 3 misfire code that keeps coming back. When I put it away the night before, fine, the next morning I go to leave for work and it rough idles and the misfire happens. It seems to get better as it warms up. I checked the plugs and they look good and I also switched the coil packs but the misfire stayed on the #3 cylinder. Next I'm going to do a compression test (when I have time, maybe this weekend) and hope for something like a bad fuel injector rather than a blown valve or piston or rod....in the meantime I'm driving another car so as not to further damage the Speed6.
I guess this is what I get for putting up those 'large numbers' on the dyno. It can't be a coincidence but the car was fine for almost 2 weeks after.

Friction has nothing to do with it - if you think tires have the same grip at 25*F as at 50 or 60 you are very wrong sir. I can't get shit for traction even at 40* yet alone mid 20's - beyond that It's not good for max perf summer tires to be at temps below freezing, some compounds even have warnings not to STORE below certain temperatures (usually 32F* or 15F*)

All that said the reason I wasn't going even before this was canceled is I don't see doing it when you have to have the windows up and heat blasting being all that fun, windows down enjoying the nice weather and scenery is the reason I personally go on these cruises.

It sucks it was cancelled, but it was with good reason. On that note, there's no reason anyone here can't get together on their own and go for a cruise if you're really into it!

Yup. What matt said. I dont want to go because its not a very fun cruise with windows up and heat on. And cant drive as hard as you want. Not to mention with 4 or 5 people, its not even worth the effort for such a day.

And next spring I am thinking a good long cruise with an overnighter. So ill have all winter to plan that.

Overnighter I likely wouldn't have done and just driven our Mazda 6, caring less about an actual cruise route. I wasn't plannign on going as I knew the miata would already be in storage. I'd love to see a spring crusie done as an overnight event. Doesn't matter where we go, just as long as we are chilling at a fun hotel that has a pool. :)
