I will keep updating the thread and the first post as everything comes together, and as I solidify the details in the next few weeks (the week after Thanksgiving is the goal to have everything in place, so we can fill in any gaps in the last week or so.)

Diva's Christmas Party - Saturday, December 19th. 6:00 - 12:00 or so
Located at my home: 15732 France Way, Apple Valley MN

Various snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages will be served, as well as eggnog. Please bring any other beverages you may wish.

The plan is video games in the den (will need assistance with this) and a more traditional Christmas party on the main floor. Note: the den won't fit everyone at once, so while there will be room for some people to watch, the food and beverages will be on the main floor to encourage mixing between the spaces.

White Elephant: We will be having a white elephant gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped present of some item to be rid of around the house or if you wish to go on a creative shopping excursion, feel free to do so, but keep it under $10.

Dress: Feel free to be festive, either in a serious or in a snarky way. I won't go to a formal ugly seater contest, but don't be afraid to wear them either.

If I am counting correctly in the prior thread, it appears we have 18 people either on maybe or committed. I will open a poll after Thanksgiving to firm up the count for food purposes and the like, so please RSVP at that time.

Depending on what needs to be ported, if no one else wants to haul consoles... I can do it. I just need to know in advance so I can try and dig them out from the basket of snakes. One thing of note, if it's to be RB/GH, I'm gonna need whoevers' hard drive to do it, because my stuff is all on the Wii.

PLEASE see the poll and vote. My schedule got thrown for a loop. If people can't make the date, I will hold firm on this plan, but if I can move the party to the 19th and be able to do a family holiday thing on the 12th... I will.

Please let me know HONESTLY how the dates compare or would work.

I'm hoping to have the food pretty much complete... and keep in mind there are the issues that it all has to fit on a 108" table!

Anyway... here is the prospective menu...

Veggie tray w/dip, a limited relish tray, two flavors of little smokies, assorted tortilla-wrap-slice appetizers (3 kinds, I'm thinking), cinnamon chips with pumpkin cream, perhaps some fruit to go with it too, tortilla chips, potato chips, and Fritos with dip, salsa, guacamole, and Rotel dip, mini French Silk Pies, and I'm still deciding on some sort of hot crudite that doesn't require too much babysitting.

Drinks... assorted sodas, water, coffee, egg nog, and I'm thinking of a punch. Any other alcohol than the eggnog is bring your own.

I might be a little thin on the dessert side, so if people wanted to bring a a batch of their favorite Christmas cookie or something like that, that likely would work well.

What is really needed...

I only have 15 chairs including folding bag ones and will scrounge a couple more. For the Secret Santa there will be seating for 7 more. The den has NO seating except for the chairs I'll be moving down there. Therefore, chairs will likely be needed.

Otherwise, on video games. I have a Wii with two basic controllers/nunchucks and my game selection is sparse. Additional games and controllers are likely needed for the Wii, and then I'm hoping to have some guidance on other systems/games... as I'm open to/on that matter... and I assume others are MUCH more knowledgeable on the subject.
