So wait, this guy/girl made a conclusion that the earth is not spinning based on the Bible? Buahahaha.... yeah...

Im too lazy to look at the reasons for thinking that. Frankly unless you believe someone else ie a scientist you will not know if the earth is really flat, or rotates etc etc unless you get to fly in outer space lmao. I think there are flat earth forums out there too. lol

Who are you trying to fool? There's enough evidence that the earth is not flat and that it rotates. Seriously... WTF?

lol, didnt galileo say that the earth was not the center of the universe??? and who punished him??? the catholic church, they did not want to be proven wrong just bc in the bible it doesnt say if it is or not, the point is just bc the bible says something doesnt mean its true, dont get me wrong i believe in god and in jesus but the bible was written by man and man has many flaws so the bible is not 100% accurate, heck i dont even think its 50%accurate

I was stating a simple fact.. Until you have actually been in outer space and looked down at the earth while its rotating.. you cant actually "know" personally if its round or rotates. Pretty much just as you cant "know" personally if there are bacteria everywhere, unless you have looked under a microscope, which most people have done(including myself). Im not saying the earth isnt round or it doesnt rotate, it does.. Im just saying I dont know from first hand experience :p

Well, there were pics of a round planet prior to photoshop, that is, unless the gov't has faked all the moon landings......

Eh either way, it's always amazing to find out what some people believe. Like the hobo I talked to once. I spent 45 minutes enthralled by this guy, because of his theory that cancer is a government plot.

Population control, smart hobo.

You can look at your statement both ways. I find it amazing people think they have never found a cure for cancer with the billions that have been spent. They can clone but not cure cancer? BS

That's only partially true from the perspective that you can never prove a physical rule true, because you can never account for every possibility.

However, one of the basic tenets of the scientific method is the idea that you make observations and perform experiments in order to learn about things that you cannot observe directly. This means that I don't have to personally witness the earth orbiting the sun--lets not even get into the whole concept of inertial frames of reference--to be certain that that is what is going on.

The thing that amazes me about people like the owner of that website, is that the basis of their disbelief in scientifically "proven" facts is that they cannot easily observe them for themselves (but could if they really wanted to). Yet, they then turn around and support their belief using an incredibly minute selection of passages from the bible, whose assertions they, nor anyone else, have no way of observing or testing.

Comparing cloning and curing cancer is like comparing apples to elephants.

If cloning was having the ability to write a computer program that would copy a file from one disk to another, then curing cancer would be the ability to debug a low-level software or hardware error from any given person's computer, complete with their individually installed software/hardware, potential viruses/malware and personal usage habits.

If I'm bristling a little bit, it's because I tend to take it a little bit personally when people trivialize technological progress and imply that the world's research bodies--public, private, and government--are all serving the interests of some Big Brother shadow organization.

Theres no money in cures. Simple as that. How many diseases have they cured since polio? Making a disease or disorder manageable through a pill everyday for the remainder of your life = $$$$

Yeah, but think of the door charge they could get on a CURE for cancer. Shit everyone and their mother would pay 100k without a blink for a cancer cure. Personally, I think pharm companies are full of shit and need to go die, but that is a whole other story.
