Ugh, the 3i with a 4-speed auto is kind of a dog. The 5-speed on my last loaner felt pretty snappy, but this one just feels like the epitome of a "slushbox"

Yeah, the last one I had actually had some snap. Kind of a pain trying to remember that there is not a clutch in it though. No ABS and a big brake pedal FTL.

I drove the 4 speed auto 2.3 for 2 years and as soon as I got into the speed3... I haven't sat in the driver's seat of that slushbox since.

Don't know the whole story, but basically ever since this little peckerwood signed onto the forums, he's posted thread after thread detailing a slow death of his car. From ''drifting'' it through wet parking lots (with traffic), to jumping it off of bumps in the road, etc.

It was pretty much only a matter of time before he started the damn thing on fire.

Sadly, he had become sort of a hero for all the other teenage 3 owners... apparently rich kids with no respect for their shit are something to be admired.

Pretty much. I'm just waiting for the real story to come out. That's how all of his threads start out: ''Look what happened to my car! OMG!'' Then later in the thread it gets revealed that the damage was due to (for example) him being too drunk to drive, so he let's his slightly-less drunk friend drive instead. He decides it's a good idea to take a FWD econobox through a residential neighborhood rally style and ends up sideways in some dude's lawn. And it ends up with something like "OMFGLOL! That dude was so pissed, and we did a burnout through his flowerbed while he was yelling at us! Man, it was hilarious!"

There was another one where his door and hood got all dented to shit. Turns out they were fucking with some other car on the road--tailgating, flashing highbeams, etc--and the dude got pissed, made them pull over, then kicked in his door panel before he could drive away. But of course, he was the innocent victim....

Anyways, yeah, the kid's a tool and most likely deserved having his car burn to the ground. But I frequent those forums, so I don't want to stir up a shitstorm over there... especially since I know someone else will do it for me! lol
