Wiper Blades

It's getting to that time of the year where I'm starting to think about replacing the wiper blades on my Mazda. I'm curious what others have used and how they would rate them. I've heard good things about the frame-less ones...but don't know much else. Advice?

I don't know a whole lot about different wiper blades, but I know Costco carries Goodyear Assurance blades for only about $8-9 each. They are the frameless ones, and they seem to work really well on the 3 different cars I've put them on. I've paid 2-3 times as much for premium wiper blades before and I'd rate these easily as good.

Bosch Icons on the 5 since last winter, best blades I've ever used.

I love those new RainX ones that are 'no pressure point' or what ever. No streaks for me :)

A buddy just got some no-pressure-point wipers, not sure if they are rainx or what but they seem to work REALLY well.

We use the Costco ones Jay mentioned and they work pretty well on my 3, but on the Pilot the 24" blade doesn't work quite as well, I would imagine because of the long length and lack of a really rigid arm/frame.

That's a good point Pete. I haven't used anything longer than a 21" blade of that type. If you've got a big windshield or one with a lot of curvature, I could see the frameless design maybe not working so well.

Wipers. I have never changed a set of wipers in my life. Just keep a clean and rainxed windshield and they all work great. the best thing you can do for your wipers is only use them when you really need to.

RainX does rock, as long as you keep up with it. If you let it go for more than 9 months it starts to suck exponentially each month thereafter.

9 months? i think i did my windshield in may/june and it started sucking a month ago. but yes, rainx is awesome.

I went with dmention7's advice and picked up a set of Goodyear Assurance blades from Costco. Now, I know they're brand new and should perform at their best...but they're awesome compared to the worn POS pair I had on before.
