Very true JT. Expensive doesn't mean interesting!

So whats the plans for the meets? Are we going monthly only? After C&C and then another meet two weeks later to make it biweekly? hmm?

Have to go ahead and disagree, first off, MNSC maybe has like 8-9 members that are there showing cars and of them none of them are there to rep mnsc, I would know. Second, the cars that are there are mostly owned by the people who rent from the complex (which is not cheap to rent) and have quite a bit of money. So many other forums are constantly complaining about the influx of "4 door grocery getters and low end imports that think they can just turn it into Uni" that have come in the last year including some of the organizers of C&C itself. So if MNMazda, or any car club for that matter, wants to make a showing at C&C I would recommend recruiting the cleanest and most well done cars, I am sure they would enjoy and support other car clubs coming to the event and showing, but they also don't want it to take away from the 'high end' show that it is supposed to be.

Also, even though cars like the FD are 15k imports now a days they are on a different scale than most other cars because they are RWD, Lightweight, Turbo, go-fast cars that are sought after.
honestly, if we're talking about the majority of 4 door grocery getters at C&C we'd probably be discussing all the Audis and VWs, Eurowerks has probably the largest presence at C&C and only like 6 people from MNMazda who are always stuck in the back. Also, a friend of mine does own a garage there and I do know the owner of the place, I don't think we're not welcome there. And who really complains about the 4 door grocery getters anyway? I mean theres a bit of everything there, and not too many really high end cars

I like the plan I mentioned earlier:
- First Saturday of the month: C&C
- Third Saturday of the month: Family meet at a designated family-friendly location
- Weekly meets at a new location (not Porky's)
- Toss in your install and other various impromptu meets

I think we should plan this on a calendar for the summer months and set it in stone ASAP. The better planned we are the better our chances are at having a successful turnout so the ones with families, busy schedules, etc. can plan ahead.

Perhaps I should have been more clear, and I appologize for that, It's more so the completely stock sedans with subs and the poorly modified vehicles I hear the most gripes about.

This, I want this.

So, cars and coffee, random 3rd saturday park, and a couple of places to rotate weeklies around the metro.

LOL, mine broke 5 min into plowing the last big storm so we called a service. Took the old beast to a guy in SE MPLS to get it all overhauled and fixed up and now I'm ready to rock.

Word of advice, with a storm like this, fuck the shovel, call a service. You'll find some good leads on CL. That's what I did during the last big storm, best $50 I EVER spent dealing with snow!
Funny, as soon as I read this I DID look at CL, nothing around. Snow-blower going into shop this week. Shoveling=> nope, nada. Good exercise but.....

I don't agree with only have C&C as the event. Isn't this a pure monring event where you have lots of time to afternoon/eveneing events as well?

In any case, this summer is already filing up fast with event and weekends are going to be scarce when you start to plan shit out. I know I plan to hit at least half the Auto X events this year, maybe more. I also know that I'll be doing my share of weekends in IA as well with the kiddo, so with that said, I'm all for the planning that's going on here and getting items on the table, nice work. If we can toss this into the vB cal on this site or maybe make something use the google cal for schedule it woudl be sweet, give a visual to how this will all be laid out.

Yeah, I'll work on pencilling things into the Calendar as they come up.

And you're right AJ, C&C is a morning event. I usually go home and go back to bed afterwards lol.

We're not having C&C as the only event. Just 3 posts above yours Tom agreed to my suggestion, which is likely what we're planning to do.

MAD LIGHTS YO
i say we have C&C and then do one of the park/grill meets after/later in the day. we've already had ideas thrown around for go karting, the itasca camping trip, a duluth overnight cruise etc...
i say we use the 2nd meet weekend (the 3rd weekend of the month) for one of the activities just listed.

For me (and I say this not knowing if I'm part of the riff-raff or the cool peeps) the whole mnmazda community has been nothing but welcoming. I might not be what some consider a regular attendee (50/50 chance I have class on wed nights throughout the year), but Porky's has been something that I look forward too; something mid-week that isn't so blagh. When I can actually attend, Porky's is out of the way for me too (see all previous post about sucky 5-6 traffic), so the location doesn't matter, but Porky's was a nice outdoor spot to enjoy the weather (which is more of a deal-breaker for me personally) and chill with other people who like cars, whatever their competency level. I enjoy listening to conversations about technical car stuff with some pop-culture stuff sprinkled in.

Anyways these are the things that I like about the mid-week meetup. My two Lincoln's.

I just bought a honda tom...

Where does this Senior member shit come from? If you're talking about the titles under the names, thats a function of postcount, not age of the account. You too could become the elusive "Senior Member" if that's what you want. Post more. Tell us about the setup on that Miata. Cause i'll be the first to admit, that thing is a damn sight quicker than it should be in a curvy line, especially given outward appearances. I think too many people are making too many assumptions about too many things. And that- is missing the point.

And for the record, I got no problems with cruises. You can go all you want. Find a pretty road and take pics? We'd LOVE to see it. I want us to be known as the people who know the things about the places. Unfortunately, I got shit I gotta do. I spent a good part of the summer trying to buy a house. I dinno if you've done that before, but that shit is a LOT of work. Not to mention, I do have interests outside of my car. Do I like to drive it? Absolutely. Do I drive it a ton? No- because I'm not happy with it and I don't have the $$$ to make it the way I want just yet. Maybe that wouldn't bother you, but it does me.

As far as riffraff and greasy dirtbags- it wasn't you, so get over yourself. It was people not associated with anyone, or even anyone that was associated with anyone, moreso the friend of a friend of a friend of a friend people that showed up and were generally uncool to us all, even when we made no untoward comments. Except for Hondas. I'll still hate on those, even that wicked fast one, or Krugers, if it ever gets built.
