No good. For all the cracks everyone makes about cops and students and teachers, this is a sobering reminder of what some people go through.

Truly one of the sickest things I have seen in quite a while. I really dont understand what could compell someone to take such a drastic turn in their life. My only conclusion was complete insanity. I have gone through some pretty difficult and trying times in my life, but something of this magnitude never even crossed my mind. I really cannot fathom what it was like for those involved and really hope I never can.

IMO the chances of someone flipping like this are one in a million and if there are 300 million people in america then that leaves 300 people willing to do such a thing in this country. This is domestic terrorism. Psychos that sit around wanting to break records of how many people they can kill and not caring if they die or not. I bet you some idiot is watching the news about the VT shooting and is drafting ideas on how he/she could kill more. My prayers go out to the families and I hope they can cope with this appropriately and get on with their lives.

I agree, the excess of media coverage does nothing but promote the killer and give he/she exactly what they are after; attention. Now I understand the media has to cover the incident as its news and in turn, ratings. I really dont know if there is a happy medium between coverage and glorification.

Glorification isnt exactly a good word to use there, but you get the idea.

One of the most unfortunate effects of this incident, is that I have a feeling political talking heads are going to twist this into an issue of race or immigration... Or something else completely unrelated to the tragedy that they can exploit to advance their own agendas.

Am I a bit cynical? nah...

I dont think you are off base at all. As of last night I counted at least three different news programs that were tackling the gun control issue and whether some states' laws are too loose. The main target last night was VA as thats where Cho purchased both of his weapons.

Do we need to examine gun control laws? Possibly. Are we going to examine gun control laws? Now we are, whether its needed or not.

very disturbing.... I wonder who he keeps referring to in the videos... "I gave you a billion chances" and such...

He seems so emotionless in the videos to and everything is being read from paper. I almost get the feeling like he is faking it....

Well according to the analyists, he is speaking to the rich people of the world, but mainly the rich kids on campus. As for being emotionless, the doctors are saying thats what comes from severe depression, which he obviously had. Among other issues, dillusion, possible schizophrenia, paranoia, etc. He was one terribly disturbed individual, obviously. But, apparently the red flags were everyone and no one was able to intercept his actions.

I don't understand the article. With the other evidence that has surfaced, I think its pretty clear why he did what he did. Now, as to why he chose the targets he did, that may be unclear.
