TWM Short Shifter- Stage 1 vs. Stage 2

Does anybody have experience with just how different the TWM Stage 2 short shifter is from the Stage 1? I realize that the Stage 2 comes with the replacement shaft that is shortened by 1". I'm wondering how much of a difference that 1" makes.

It looks like the adapter plates are the same so if worse comes to worse I could probably just put the stock shaft back in I guess.

I have the Stage 2 and I love it. Now the shift pattern is really tight. The Stage 2 decreases height by 1" as well as throw by 33%, the stage 1 keeps the stock height and only reduces throw by 28%. For the extra $30 I'd go with the Stage 2. That was my reasoning anyways. Sry I can't help compare and contrast but that's my 2 cents.

yeah the difference between 33 and 28 percent is really just because stage 2 is one inch shorter, if you want stock height go with 1 if you like a lower shifter then go 2

What they said. I had stage 2 with the bushings and loved it. Highly recommend that setup for the best shifts.

It's pretty basic. Will take about an hour or so. If you're mildly mechanical you'll be just fine (I'd say it's between an intake and cat back install. There should be a few how-to's floating around the national forums.

Install is easy. The directions that come with the kit (at least from Street Unit) talk about taking the whole center console out. Totally not necessary as long as you've got some ratchet extensions, etc. Just pop the top cover by ebrake and top cover of shifter/ash tray off and I found I had plenty of room to work.
