Tint & Tails

got my windows tinted today by Tien and as a test he also tinted my reverse lenses at 35%. After seeing how they look with the tint i'm very pleased with the result and will probably have him do the rest of the tail lights at a later date.

no, would have been another 40 or so.

he did the driver's side as a demo quick-like, i liked it, so he did the other. so they were roughly $5 a piece, then talking with him the rest of the tails would be about 40-50 for a 4-piece set, and $50 for a two-piece

Looks awesome A!! I get what JT is saying, because the much-darker reverse lights look a bit odd next to the completely untinted tails, but an extra $40-50 on top of the money you already spent seems a bit steep for the tails, especially since after seeing the rolls of tint Tein uses, it would seem that they should be able to get all 4 pieces cut out of one 6-8" section of roll. I'm sure part of the higher price is due to the funky shape of the tails, but I'm thinkin' you can buy precut tinted pieces for less than that.

Yep, found some here after a quick search, so there may be even less expensive options out there.

My only concern would be with regard to backing up at night. The combination of tinted rear windowsn with tinted reverse lights seems like it would make it especially hard to see behind you when the sun goes down. Perhaps some HID reverse lights might help eliminate that though. Can't wait to see what mods you do next.

We use different type of tint for taillights and windows. there is no possible way we could use regular window tint for taillights just because the tint does not flex or bend like this taillight tint. Its more of a vinyl plastic.. and it does not lay flat.. You have to do some stretching and pulling and heating.. You can buy taillight kits for 30-40 bucks.. but i offer 40to50 bucks installed with the product.. so i guess its not to much more is it?

I'M OFFENDED!
How dark can you get the tails? I may be interested in this, as it seems pretty inexpensive.

Having tried to apply a tail light tint kit myself, I would say that 40-50 installed is well worth it! I spent 2 hours messing around and ended up throwing the film in the trash out of frustration, haha. Were my tails not already painted, I'd almost certainly be interested!
