Yea I know. I suppose it is all good if you have a large heated garage and the car youare rebuilding is your 2nd vehicle.

Fixed the pics, the domain owner kind of fails at domain ownership.. :\

A small update, I need only two more parts then a paint job before this project is done. :)

Those parts are I/C piping (please please PLEASE help me with this, I have no idea where to even start) and a small piece of exhaust.

IC piping? What do you need help with? I'm actually in the middle of building custom pipes for my msp.

Here's my suggestion to start with:

1) Figure out what diameter piping you'll be needing for the various segments, keeping in mind the diameter of the compressor inlet and outlet, IC fittings, MAF sensor housing, and throttle body

2) Head to home depot and pick up some PVC pipe in the approximate diameters you'll need, and a whole mess of 45 and 90 degree bends in those diameters. (Shouldn't cost you any more than $20)

3) Start hacking up the PVC pipe and fitting the pipe sections together with the couplers and test fitting various routes until you find one that looks like it's going to work. Make sure you leave some allowance for varying pipe diameters/bend radii on the actual pipes. You'll be attaching your real pipes to the compressor, IC and TB using silicone "hump" connectors, which give you a fair amount of leeway in lining up the pipes

4) Next you need to decide what makes the most sense for your actual piping; metal pipes/bends with silicone couplers is probably the best option for ease of DIY as long as you're not going to be running high boost levels.

5) Now you just need to shop around for the piping. There are several online places where you can purchase aluminum and/or aluminized steel bends off the shelf. Personally, I just sent my shopping list to MAP.

6) Finally, use your PVC pipes as a model and rough cut the metal pipes/bends down to size and test fit them together with couplers to make sure everything lines up the way you thought. Make any final tweaks and clean up the cut ends of the pipes, then clamp everything down with t-clamps and you're good to go!

Alternatively, you can just bring the car to a shop and have them weld you up a set of pipes--that's going to cost a lot more, but it's probably a better option if you're looking at running lots of boost.

Does that help any?

Yeah that helps a bit. Model with PVC, then get a bunch of aluminum piping and silicone bends.

I think my outlet is 2" and my i/c is 2.5". Dunno about my TB.

What do I do about the bungs and stuffs?

That stuff, I'd just have a shop weld it for you. Pick your locations, drill the holes, do as much of the cutting and machining as you can yourself, then let someone with welding experience weld the parts together.... probably cheapest that way.

Or rock some JBWeld.... lol..... only half-kidding ;)

Looks good. When do you think you will get it running??
After I get i/c piping (going in monday), exhaust pipe (monday), wbo2 in (will happen on monday), oil pressure gauge (friday), some paint (also monday), ITS, and probably something SUPER crucial that I'm completely forgetting.

In the meantime I need to power on the ECU and calibrate some shit.

Is it just a camera trick, or is there only about 2" clearance between the compressor outlet and the strut tower? :/

Unfortunately it's no trick, the space is a bit tight. Enough to get a 2" 45 degree bend right off the outlet though, which will point me exactly where I need to go with the pipe anyways, so it all works out. :)

Tom from Hyper-Tek Performance is swinging out tomorrow to give me a good quote on the bodywork and paint. Sight unseen he quoted me already, and the price is definitely right. I'll take some hi-res pics after the paint job to show off the niceness that I'm assuming it will have :)

Paint job looks great, hasn't even been shined to a clean finish yet either. $1650 from Hyper-Tek, courtesy of Tom (LegendX on mnsc).

In about 5 minutes, a family friend who is an accomplished welder is going to come help me with exhaust and intercooler piping. I think all that'll be done today is measurements and discussion of pipe sizing, etc.

So I leave for a few months and come back to pretty much no new posts. Did this forum die? :(

She's turbo'd now, and really needs a tune. Base map is drivable once at OT, but it's REALLY RICH. :|

Moar bewst will make it run richer, lol. That, and I don't think the fuel pump could handle it. I need to get a walbro 190lph or something up in that bitch.

It's got a lot of problems that need tuning awesomeness to fix. :|

Anyone here know half a shit about tuning? I've got the basics of the ECU operation down, but I don't know what a lot of it means and what I want the numbers to be. >.>

I'M OFFENDED!
Talk to the cats over at MAP.... they're pretty good with the tuning. Might want to talk To Niterydr on here too, I've seen that guy toon before and he's got his shit together. Either would be good.
