See, and MAP's specialty is DSMs, so unless you're talking about basic tuning (which it sounds like you are), there might be better choices in the area. Then again, they signed on to sponsor a mazda forum... heh

Either way, couldn't hurt to talk to them and see what they say.

Tuning is tuning IMO... the basics are still there. You want the car to do x at y, regardless of the motor. I have to imagine they'd be able to work something like this out. They were smart enough to build a 9 sec rx7 with a DSM motor shoved in it, I bet they'd be smart enough to do this.

Anyone here know half a shit about tuning? I've got the basics of the ECU operation down, but I don't know what a lot of it means and what I want the numbers to be. >.>

What ECU are you using. I have a turbo Miata that I have street tuned using the Link ECU and Dataloglab...not really too hard....except when it -7F outside.

I really just have to take a peek around in it and do some reading. There seems to be a shitload of documentation

So I installed the FM kit in Tim's (Der_Idiot on mnsc) Miata, and for shits looked at his fuel map and compared it to mine. Mine was about the same... for a larger turbo and much larger injectors.

Emailed Jeremy at FM, who responded with basically "uhhh, when I send out base maps I keep a copy on our server. There isn't a copy of yours. Here you go, try this out."

She runs very well now. And I took her out. And I jizzed.. in.. my pants.

Time to start chopping away at the laundry list of to-do with that car, now that the basics are done!

Most definitely! Nothing tops off a completed build like a nice shiny dyno chart :D

Plus, I kinda want to see this thing in person... sounds like an awesome project.
