Spring 2011 Events? (Morrie's Detail Day and Dyno Day?)

Anyone working on setting up a detail day at Morrie's or a MNMazda Dyno day at MAP?

I'm very interested in a detail day this spring and I'd be up for a dyno day, but not sure if I'll need a dyno myself.

There has been interest in a dyno day... I'll be at MAP this week and talk to them about what they need to bother doing it. Detail days are on hold indefinitely because our old detail guy Michael, was moved to the Bentley svc dept and is in charge of that now, and the new detail manager is less agreeable to us taking up his sunday.

What Tom said. I pestered Michael a few times last fall to hook us up with a detail day, but he's not in charge of the detail shop anymore and the new guy isn't so keen on it. I think the owner of the site needs to talk to someone in charge over there <.<

I've got an idea for another detail day location (just a spot to get a large group at, not a dealership or anything).... let me shoot an e-mail off.

Otherwise, I think Detail days at someone's house works well too. My place has worked, days at Nates for tips and tricks works, I think we have options.

Detail day would be great back at a house. I would be grad to host. Or BAG would be sweet too. Now that there is a BAD to grill and chill on too.

Yeah, I think a house would be best, and I don't care where it is. Upside of owning a Miata, I can use my same cleaner and rag I use for my glasses on it, so nice and small. lol

If we're going to do detail day at someone's house (vs an indoor heated detail bay), I say we set that up for june at the earliest. Detailing can obviously be done in cooler weather, but it makes for kind of a miserable meet if you're washing cars in the cold. lol

So, here's the deal. With as packed as MAP's schedule is this summer, we're going to need a LOCKED 10 cars on the rollers before I pursue this. The problem is we'd take up one of the already limited weekends, and instead of dynoing 10 cars, we'd dyno 4 and basically waste their time, like we've done in the past. I have some numbers I'm gunning for, so I'd go ahead and call me locked. But I need to know who wants to do it FOR SURE before we go any further on dyno day.

I wouldn't mind dyno-ing if the price was alright.

Price in the past is around 60$ a car for three pulls. I can't imagine it'd be too much different in either direction.

Sadly I could be locked if I had an idea of the weekend, this summer is already Mega busy with events.
