Laid out the CF and made my pattern.

Quickly sprayed it black

Carbon laid and resin applied

Still have a lot of resin to go to bury it in.

Measurements and patience will get the other one very close. Due to the space between them, they do not have to be perfectly symmetrical, they just have to be very close to symmetrical.

Well here is another update.

Blocked out the resin a little and applied some more, really starting to smooth out now!

Started the door cards today. I am making a mold of the door card, that way when I lay the carbon I can use it as a press to ensure that the carbon lays down nicely in all the tight corners

Finished the speaker mount. All sanded and cleared. Maybe a little buffing, but basically done.

Also started wrapping the door card.

Wrapped in plastic wrap.

Mold clamped down and weighted.

Like a standard Mazda wheel center cap? I think it could be done. The main thing would be to get the mold perfect with the size it is.

I was thinking about covering the outside part of a center cap, not the entire thing. I just didn't know if the resin would hold up to the elements. It would suck to cover a set of center caps and have them look like crap a year later.
