"Fast Laps" at Mid-America Motorplex

Come on out to the track with us for the weekend. This is a great chance to get out on a race track. Any type of car or experience level is okay. This is a great way to hone your driving skills and have a great time learning the limits of you & your car.
  • Everyone is welcome
    [*]Instruction provided for beginners
[*]LOTS of time on the track
  • MAM is great for beginners but still offers a good challenge for those with experience
  • Please call with any questions!

When: September 26 & 27th
Where: Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, IA
Cost: $175/day or $325/both days (check, cash, PayPal, VISA, MASTERCARD)

Caravan to the track
We will also caravan down to the track on Friday the 25th. It is a great time and makes the time fly by on the way to the track. We typically leave from Lakeville in the morning & then stop in Des Moines for lunch.

Camping at the track

For those that prefer to save a few bucks, we will be able to camp out right at the track. This is always a great time of relaxing & swapping stories from the day's event. There are nice showers/bathrooms. We also have a hotel lined up for those that prefer. Hotel details are on the website.

Drag Racing Too!
And for those interested, the track has 1/8 mile drag racing on Friday and/or Saturday evening. Whether you are watching or running, it is a lot of fun.

I'm guessing you've run a few events like this before; how many people have come out to Mid-America before and how many are you expecting this time? How much track time do you think we will get? Enough to destory my tires and brakes? :)

Have run a number of events at MAM in the past. It is a great track & we always have lots of great cars & people attending. In the past we have had about 30 - 40 cars and have had plenty of track time. Looking like there will fewer than that this year so there should be lots of track time. You should be able to get a couple hundred track miles per day without much problem as long as you & your car are up to it. In my experience this track hasn't been too hard on tires but of course it depends on a lot of things (setup, weight, temp etc).

Hope some of you guys can make it to this event. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hmmm, if I get the GTO back together and the clutch/transmission broken in by the time this rolls around I'm going to try and make it, I haven't run MAM before but it looks like a good time!

Any idea what type of speeds this track sees on the straight from Fbodys/GTO's on average?

A stock F-body should see somewhere around 120 - 125 on the longest straight.

Hope you can make it!

Well no way my car is going to be ready for this event so I'm out. Do you know if there are any events at MAM or Road America in October this year?

Sounds like spectators are welcome here, I can't find a listing for pricing but its usually between $0 and $10 for spectators at these types of events. I created a thread in the events planning section for Road America on Sat Oct 3rd, I want to try and make it out there, spectators are $5 at that event.

any way we could come and just watch? how much would i have to pay for that?
No charge for spectators. If you do come out to watch, look me up & I'll make sure that you get a ride if you would like.

Sorry to hear that you can't make it MrMatt. Don't you have a daily driver or something that you could bring? I'll probably have my 4D Sedan there as well as my "track" car.
