Now Boarding kennel... anyone used them?

We are probably going to be dropping the dog off there this weekend while we head out of town, but just curious if anyone else has used them? Rates are on par with other kennels in the Mpls area, and 24/7 hours are definitely a plus.

Nope, we either leave the dogs with our parents, or board them at Jenny's work if we can't find another option.

I'd Recommend...

This is my neice's business, I'd highly recommend her. They might be out of the way a bit depending on where your going, but I beleive she may still do at home pick up and drop offs.

What kind of dog is it??

I would watch it if it gets along with my dog. (my dog gets along with most dogs)

Border Collie / Corgi / Pitbull mix (I think)... 35 - 40lb or so. Very friendly and well-tempered and likes kids, but a bit rambunctious when she gets excited.

She gets along with most dogs we've introduced her to except my dad's black lab who is old and cranky.

Probably a bit short notice to get them introduced and all that before friday morning, but I could give you a shout next time our normal sitter (my brother) is not available!

I bet she would mix well with out mutt Bosco, Shepard/Corgi, as well. We are going to be looking for a kennel over the thanksgiving holiday as well.

OK. That would be fine with me. We should introduce them sooner the later.

Josie is a 70 lbs boxer. With a very even temperament and she is fully house trained.

Well, we ended up going with Now Boarding, just because there's a good chance we'd be coming home after closing time on Sunday for most of the other kennels.

Mini-review:

Seemed like a nice, clean, professional place. They took us on a quick tour when we were dropping the dog off, and aside from having a bit of a sterile feel, there was nothing that put me off about the kennels or the rest of the facility. The staff we met all did seem to genuinely like handling dogs, so that was a plus. Every kennel has access to its own small outdoor run, which is nice. We knew my brother's dog was staying there also, and the staff had no problem putting them in the same play group at our request.

Out of curiosity, we measured out her food and two different treats beforehand, and it looks like they followed our feeding instructions pretty accurately, so that is a plus too.

The convenience of being able to drop off and pick up 24/7 was definitely nice, but you do pay a premium vs some other kennels. I think if we were looking at a longer stay in the future, we'd probably try a cheaper place, but if you're heading out last minute or need flexibility (especially if flying out of MSP), I'd definitely recommend them.
