MTC - Jerks!

Well, I was on my way home today, taking a casual left onto Mainstreet in Hopkins, when bump....An MTC bus decides to pull out and directly into the bumper of my car. The bus hit the right rear corner and didnt cause extensive damage, but still damage none-the-less. Due to the position of the impact, it looked like I was 95% of the way past the bus, when he pulled out and hit me.

The driver stated his turn signal was on, which it was not. At least it was not on until I was along side the bus, at which point its his responsibility to check for fucking CARS! The police showed up and we filed a report, yadda yadda. I will post some pics later. The insurance rep stated my case is good due to the position of the impact. :riped: :threadworthlesswith

Damn dude, that sucks! At least the damage wasn't major and you shouldn't have any trouble getting everything patched up.

that sucks man, they can be dicks. i have had to dodge a few of them.

Whenever there's a bus nearby, I get the hell out of the way. Their drivers are assholes, and have no problems cutting you off. And IIRC, in most cases if you get into an accident with a bus, you're automatically deemed at fault.

I always give those buses quite a bit of leeway. I mean, they've got schedules to keep and they're not the most maneuverable things in the world, so you know they're not going to worry about dodging you. I figure I'd better stay out of their way instead.

But yeah, if he nailed you in your rear quarter, there probably wasn't much you could have done to avoid it--he should've checked his mirror before pulling out.

From the sound of it, my insurance agent thinks I will have a good chance of getting MTC to assume liability due to the point of impact. But, we will see how things go.

LEt's hope. And then you should be injured for your troubles too. Friend of mine got hit by a bus. Got millions.
