MSP Hiboost FMIC Kit question

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any experience regarding relocation of the MAF on the MSP? I have a hiboost kit I bought about 2 months ago and I am going to install soon. It already has a cut cold pipe dual setup (BOV and BPV) to put the Greddy Type S (kit I bought came with and authentic) BOV then MAF in line from the throttle body.

Question 1: Does anyone currently run this setup and is it better than the stock set-up performance wise?

Question 2: Should I even run a BOV in line with the stock BPV or just run a boost sciences BPV?

Question 3: If I do run the BOV in line with the BPV, can I T-off the BPV vacuum line or do I have to run a dedicated line?

I know these are a lot of questions, but any advice would help.

Thanks,

Nathan

In theory, a BPV with a 1" port like the boostsciences RDV is perfectly adequate for the kind of boost levels the stock MSP turbo is putting out. A dual setup will net you a little quicker response, and a bit better flow, but the main purpose is to get the BOV sound without having your car run like ass while VTA.

If the kit wasn't already ready for a dual setup, I'd ditch the BPV, relocate the MAF and just use the BOV. But it'd be more work than it's worth to patch over the BPV ports on your charge pipes and intake. IMO, just run the stock valve as the BPV in your setup.

As for your last question, I'd run a dedicated line from your brake booster vac line, and then tee that between the BOV and BPV. Then give the wastegate a dedicated line off the intake mani.

Hope that helps... any other Q's let me know.

Awesome, thanks for your help. I am hoping with the FMIC I will notice a bit more pep along with my corksport exhaust.

I can't personally say anything about FMICs, but when I swapped to a air-water IC, the difference was night and day.

I am hoping the same. The heatsoak is a little rediculous sometimes. I am hoping to come to Porkys one of these days as well. It would be nice to meet some new people with the same interests.

Thanks again Jay.
