MS3 TMIC cooling fan?

I think it may take care of the heat soak at idle. But when you are driving it would be more of an obstruction and most likely would hurt performance by creating turbulent air on TOP of the intercooler.

I cant see the thread b/c I am at work. But, typically fans can cause issues with flow through the I/C at speed. Even if the the fan shuts itself off once you are at cruising speeds, I would think airflow through the I/C itself would be disrupted. Again, I would need to see the actual design, but the engineers usually take into account the pressure in front of and behind the I/C for ideal flow through it.

Nate: you posted while I was typing, but I agree completely.

One thing to watch out for would be the center of the fan blocking airflow/creating a hotspot on the IC. The fan will move air fine where the blades are, but the center won't get any air. I don't know if that would matter at all, probably not, but something to consider.

I agree about possibly hurting airflow at speed. However, it sounds like the guy does a fair amount of auto-x, so this could be a mod well suited for that type of driver. Bonus points if the fan was easily removable, i suppose.

Barring other solutions, you could. A fan that can effectively increase airflow over the entire duration of your run would likely be a better solution though.
