MiniMe is acting silly... already *sigh*

I'm confused.
If there is a person in this world with worse car luck than I have, I would like to meet them.

The other day while driving to Biwabik, my gas gauge suddenly went to empty. I had over 3/4ths of a tanks when we left Duluth, so unless someone poked a hole in my gas tank, I knew there was no way this was possible, so I pulled into the nearest gas station and topped it off, and it was fine after that. I'm sure it was just a glitch, but then yesterday while driving up the hill, my car did something weird again. I was stopped at a stop sign and started up the hill. While I was in 2nd gear, the car started to bog hella, and I had to stop and start from 1st again to get it to stop. Since I have mad driving skillz I know it wasn't something I did, but I have no idea why it did that, and it hasn't happened since.

Given the fact that the car is under warranty, I'm not TOO concerned, however there is talk of a possible trip to Dallas in the Mini some time this summer, and I would rather not have any surprises in the middle of BFE should I choose to take said trip.

Thoughts, suggestions, comments?

It allowed me to put in 4.5 gallons. I think I have a 13 gallon tank, but I can't do math...

i wouldn't worry too much about it. sounds like you actually had less than 3/4 tank when the gauge showed 3/4.

That makes no sense though because I had filled up less than a week before that.

Actually that really makes no sense because half of 13 is 6.5, so if it let me put in only 4.5 gallons, i should have had over half a tank. Hmm.

Keep in mind gas gauges are rarely exact. I wouldn't get too worried about it. If you have any other oddities happen maybe consider bringing it in. If it's not throwing a code or doing something consistently it may be hard for them to do much though.

The gauge in the MS3 does that too. It takes like 2/3 the tank to get to 1/2 on the gauge. I'll get like 180 miles on the first half (according to the gauge), then only 100-140 on the second half.

Same with the 'ol MS6 too.

The bogging could be a dirty MAF...but it'd be more consistent than just once, so....yeah I got nothing on that one.

I'M OFFENDED!
She let the clutch out too early and tried to do the hill with too little torque. Solution? Get a supercharger, or use more revs on a hill. Prolly granny shifting the hell out of it... Minis do not like that.

Meh, her Mini is pretty rad. The HK sound is MURDER, and that shit is all loaded out. Like WAY beyond mine.

My SUV had a 19 gallon tank. I could never get more then 16 gallons into it even at Empty on my gauge. Think of it as a reserve :D

As for the bogging. Are you 'positive' you were in 2nd? I have accidentally started my car in 4th, thinking I was in 2nd. Not a happy car, even though it did go without dying.

Yes I am sure I was in 2nd, and by now I've gotten pretty good at getting the Mini up the hill, so I don't think I didn't have enough torque. At this point, I think she was just a bit moody after not being driven much the weekend before.
