so my key fob hasnt been working for the past 6+ months or so. ive replaced the battery in it, did the whole key on/off 3x times, door open/close 3x times, etc. and nothing has worked. any ideas??????
I know at a lot of auto parts stores they have a little display where you can test your key fob to make sure it's actually putting out a signal. Assuming something in the electronics has not died, I suppose there could be a problem with the buttons; dirty contacts, etc.
Do you have a spare remote that does work? If so, test that to see if it works. That'll help determine if it's a problem with the receiver on the car's end or your primary remote. Fobs do wear out internally and eventually stop working all together, so it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine if it has failed. Especially if you have an older Mazda.
