What is that 2-in-1-out thing on the firewall that seems to have oil running through it?

Is it a Mitt Romney or a Paris Hilton tune?

That's the oil pressure regulator. Feed from the oil pump on the right, output to filter on top left, bypass back to oil pan on bottom left.

Are you using it to regulate pressure down? Or bring it up?

Part of the modification to my oil pump involved plugging the internal pressure relief (which dumps frothy oil right on top of the pickup tube). So the regulator just replaces the internal one with an adjustable external one. BUT, with the ultimate goal of bringing oil pressure up over stock.
