The base Protege is around 2650 but add in the Kenwood Amp and sub, the turbo, suspension upgrades and body cladding and you get over 2800 lbs.I was suprised to read that the MSP is over 2800 pounds. I was figuring it to be a fair bit lighter than the 3? And is it correct that the base protege is only ~2400-2500 pounds?
I do have one idea: stop at Home Depot before and fill up your trunk with bags of cement. Just kidding. Um, I just wanna roll from about 40 to 100 MPH. I don't want to go any faster. If we can't tell who is quicker going that fast it's not worth it for me. I live in Chaska so thats kinda far. I will try to think of a good spot in between.Inver Grove Heights. I suggest if we are to do it, we use the strip of 35w from about 98th st, to the MN river bridge. Concrete on both sides and no cops. I won't run the bridge though. You have any other ideas?
Pretty comfortable yet nervous at times. I've been running over stock boost for about 20 K miles. I have all the suggested bolt ons to run higher boost. I have also been to the dyno (DB Performance) and I have very healthy AFR's and no detonation whatsoever. I always run BP 92 gas and I have one heat range colder plugs. I know its risky but being at stock boost makes me cry.As long as this thread is already off topic.... drumfreak, how comfortable are you running 9psi? I haven't dug too deeply into the threads at msprotege.com, but it sounds like 9-10 is about as high as you want to go without beefing up the internals--specifically the rods. What about the tranny? I know 3rd gear was proving to be the weak link on the 3.
