Today, when i tried to start my car, 2006 MS6, it died right after i let go of the clutch. I started the second time and same thing. On the third time, I hold the clutch for a few second and it idles normally. WTF???? I'm not sure if it's the wheather but why would it do this?? Any help would greatly appreciate! Thanks

Is your car kept outside, or in a garage? Also, what is the engine idling at before you let out the clutch, and how long do you let the engine warm up with the clutch in? If the car's really cold and you're jackrabbiting it (start the car then immediately put it in gear and go, without letting it warm up for a few seconds), I could see it stalling. (And you are using premium gas in the car, right?)

When you say you let go of the clutch, do you mean, you had the car in neutral, put the clutch in, started the car, and let the clutch out? Or do you mean, you fired it up, and immediately put it into gear to drive away, but it died when you tried to take off?

Also, how did it die? Was it all in a sudden lurch, or did it sputter and die?

I started the car in neutral and did not drive it. It died right after i let out of the clutch. It did have a sputter/shaking idle for a second before the idles goes to zero rpm. Yes i do have premuim gas (92 Octane), can't find 93 oct. in MN....BTW the car starts normally now but i don't know why it would do that earlier.

This actually happened to me too Friday. Fired up the car(clutch in, shifter in 2nd), move shifter to neutral (at about 2k rpm idle, no gas was given) and let out the clutch like I always do.
Killed the engine. No lurch, no sputter. The rpms just dropped fairly quick and killed the engine. It wasn't rough, didn't knock or anything. Very much like just turning the key off.

Fired it up again and just let it idle for about 10 seconds w/ the clutch in. Let the clutch out w/ the car still in neutral and it was fine. The rpms dropped a bit, but quickly went back up around 2k.

I think it is just the weather.

what can happen is the switch that tells the car to idle Up when its cold can stick just a bit. Then release very suddenly and make the car stall do to not being warm enough to. this has happened to me and i found that if I hit the little switches around the clutch pedal with a little silicon spray they free up and work great.

Or there may be a small gnome in your intake closing the flap to stall the car. Not sure.

My MS6 does the same thing. Right when I start the car with the clutch in, it idles at around 2k+. As soon as I let the clutch out in neutral, the revs drop to about 1500 immediately. Sometimes on extremely cold days, it has died when I've let the clutch out like you explained.

Yes, i have the same problem as u describe. Why would it idles @ 2,000+ rpm, clutch in, then clutch out it drops to about 1,500 rpm??? Is this normal or what??
