COBB AP FTW

I went to MAP and picked up a Cobb AP today. It fraking rules!! I was able to change the map in a few mins and wow! It actually has power in 1st and 2nd now. It was kinda cool to watch the real time data.

I found out that my MS3 can hit a peak boost of 20PSI (although most of the time it hung at 18PSI). Seeing the coolant and intake temps was pretty sweet too.

Very cool. I have heard sooo many people bitching about these things, but since I own an msp and not an ms3 I haven't really paid much attention. Good luck with it. Tuning is such a huge factor when dealing with these moddern cars.

So did you notice a decent boost in low/midrange power as well as up top? I saw on most of the datalogs that it holds the boost at a steady 18psi all the way to Redline now, but I was curious as to how much of a difference it made lower in the powerband.

Also which map are you running> 91 Octane Stage 1?

+1 and I'd also be most interested in a firsthand account of the AP giving more power all the way to redline.

Something is needed at almost stock it seems as theres this big lean spot in 3rd gear I hear..where many people say they blew the rod.... Cant wait for their "race/street" tuning to come out. I think id go cobb ap too. Mazdaspeedforums gets all the beta cobb AP maps well before anyone else too check them out.

I'm running stage 1 91 octane MSCAI. I noticed power everywhere. Low and mid for sure. And it will hold boost up to 5700. I Haven't pushed it to redline (1 because I am used to short shifting, 2 the car is a pain to control with winter tyres on.)

I will do some data logging and post the results later on this week.
