Any MS3 owners with aftermarket turbo inlet pipe?

Wondering if anybody has installed one in their MS3, what they think about it, and if there would be any A/F problems with my current mods. Any help, or insight, is GREATLY appreciated!

Ya...I know I need to research more, just would like to get this out there to help me make my decision.

Got it. With my current mods, it appears to have added approx 5whp. Coulda been differences in the air, or whatever, but it's worthwhile, on an epic scale. The stock one is a pressed plastic POS. I say do it. I haven't had any a/f problems whatsoever, since all it really does is let it flow a lot smoother.

The install is lame though.

Do it. Seriously. The increase in flow over the stock unit is amazing. Smoothed out the last few imperfections I had in my boost curve (granted, I do have an unfair advantage) and gave it a lot more room to work. Plus the staggering amount of POS in the stock unit is nothing short of frightening. Plus.... you already got most of the exhaust side done, and as I've seen, the intake side of the car is by FAR the nastiest choke point in it.

You won't notice an increase in hp on a dyno, but you will get a quicker and more responsive throttle because your turbo will start spooling about 200rpm quicker.

Great mod to complete the intake side. After you get the stocker out just take a peek at your inlet on the turbo and check to see if any oil is on it. The DISI is notorious for oil seeping to the intake...and that's a no-no.

I do know that I'm burning oil, I smell it every once in a while at a light or in heavy traffic. Its not smoking, though, I have the new turbo from Mazda. I just tell people they're smelling performance.

Well, you should clean the oil out. To cure it, you need to vent the crankcase, and so far there's not a 'kit' you can buy to do that. So, basically just suck it up because it's a design flaw from Mazda. One recommendation is to run 40 weight oil. It certainly helped for me. You'll likely smoke if you ever replace the downpipe and eliminate your cats.

So is/was Mazda. They were working on a TSB for it months ago but nothing's been released - at least they're admitting fault. PT-P had something in the pipeline too but it never came to fruition.

Problem is the crankcase vent is in pretty much the worst place on the planet. Venting the head is CAKE.
