Any 0-60 results?

Just wondering how fast some of the MazdaSpeed 6's are (or any of the Mazda cars, for that matter) to 60 mph. I saw some results around 6.2 seconds, but since it is the car mags, they probably don't get what is possible. I suspect it is more like 5.5 or so. Just curious about some real world results.

A good example, the mags have the CX-7 at 7.9. I have run a ton of tests, and 7.2 is more of the norm. If I push it harder, 6.5 to 6.8 is possible.

What are you measuring the results on? Typically car mags come close to the fastest 0-60 and 1/4 times the car is capable of.

Just using a dashhawk. I detects wheelspin, times out the 0-60 then cuts out once the speedo hits 60.2 MPH. It is pretty accurate. Like the mags, if I simply leave it in drive and go, the CX-7 does 7.9, spot on. If you shift it manually (500 rpms lower than the MSP6), it does much better. The stock shift points are very ineffective as they hold on way too long.

To your point, I found the mags pretty accurate, but on standards, they do a lift off throttle gear change for their testing. I assume those pushing a little harder will simply feather the clutch while shifting.

Back when I first got my 87 Mustang (in 87) I put in a new ring and pinion, cat back exhaust, headers and a K&N on the intake. I used to race it at the drag strip and it did about 13.6 around 102 MPH. I was happy with that.
