My stock response to this question is almost always "suspension upgrades". It's a little bit of a different story when there are well-established tuning systems out, but it's still one of the most cost-effective performance mods you can do.

I'd say depends on your goals for the car. If your going to auto-x it / track it suspension and brakes might be the way to go. Otherwise what others have said Tuning would probably be the way to go. My plan is tint, possibly an intake, then tuning.

I dont know if you are worried about warranty or not, but messing with the suspension while in the 3/36 period is a good way to void it. With something like an intake, you can easily remove and replace it. Or, if you go MZspeed its ok.

Shoulda been more specific, Im looking performance wise bang for the buck, its my birthday in June so i thought I would splurge with an extra paycheck I get that month which should be around 800-1200. I was originally gonna get new rims but than I thought I could get some pretty decent performance for that much money and am trying to decide on what to get. I was thinking CAI, BOV, Test Pipe and boost gauge...but am open to different ideas

Boost Gauge for sure, then intake, Test pipe (a universal item), BOV.
Maybe wait a little or perhaps by then LSE will have Mazda performance bolt-on products for you all.

I'M OFFENDED!
Drop the BOV.... factory will do fine until you start to turn up the boost, unless you really want the sound. I'd say CAI/DP/test pipe/boost gauge myself.

Depends. Given the fact that our turbos are so effin dinky, you may run into boost creep. But hell. Go 3inch, and get a boost controller so you can turn it down some and get a more consistent flow. Or go 2.5DP 3inch back.

Hmmm I might have to invest in a EBC then also. I dont plan on touching the DP or turbo for a while yet, just tryin to do the simple bolt on for now. Anyone try the new motor mounts out?
