I've always been a mid-sized sedan and Rotory guy myself, so I'm leaning towards the new Mazda 6... in Black... all black. it'll be sweet- but the new mazda 3, and potentially the speed3 might entice me to wait for it.

I don't mind the new Kodo design either. I think its better than the second generation 3's and 6's. I currently own a first gen 6, so I'm a wee bit biased.

Better than gen 2. But not by much. All I can think of when I see that second rendering is a shorter cx5. I just feel like mazda blew it with these new models. The shinari was epic. The new 6 and 3... kinda boring. I do like the cx5 though and am anxious to see if they make a gen 3 ms3.

You mentioned the pics you saw are nothing like the two links you posted...would you say it looks better yet? I personally like the 2nd one. Was there any mention on what engine(s) would be available? Even if you can't tell us which ones, just a yes/no works for now.

There will be 3...maybe a 4th engine available for the new 2014 3's. not 100% confirmed yet. but its damn close.

as per looks.... IMHO. it looks waay better.

Dan, do you know a ballpark of when this will be available to purchase? Since it's a 14 and hasn't been introduced, I am assuming middle of next year?

Here's the order of the tentative launches... New CX-9 (Spring), New Mazda 6( Late Spring/Summer), Mazda 3 (Fall/Winter)

Don't quote me on this one... but with my uber awesome CIA/FBI training skills.... the more powerful engines(turbo diesel perhaps) will be launched with the CX-9 and 6. with the new 2.5 Skyactivs coming into the 6 and 3's later in the year.

New Speed3 model will likely come out shortly after the New 3's are out. Winter 2013/Spring 2014.

So a speed3 is confirmed? Sweet. Can't wait to see pics. Next year, I will be planning on a new car. Going to be a split between a few models including to the new 6 and 3, then the Focus.
