The PX-MiEV is a three-mode plug-in hybrid: After running off battery power for up to 30 miles, the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine will either recharge the batteries to power the dual 80-hp electric motors or drive the axle directly.<br clear="both" style="clear: both;"/>
