The fact that it's an Auto only completly rules it out in my mind. It'd be fine to make it available but at least give us the option of having a 6 speed. They nailed the look but auto only was a mistake imo. Thing is pig heavy too :( guess that's about right for a muscle car though.

I think dodge has got to stop spreading suck all over there cars and start to put turbos and things like that on them. srt4 is the only thing that is not total crap. o and they can Hemi my ass.

Well I thought some peeps here liked them but if not then I will say thay can go on a long drive down a short road too. I am so unimpressed with they American car scene that I may never buy an American car again. they need to get there heads out of there asses and start putting cars on the road like they do over seas.

the car looks great, but in my opinion they are blowing off the car enthusiast, sure it might have a muscle car look,feel, and engine but to leave out a it being a stick is just retarded, dodge is aming to the morons that dont know anything about the cars history, dodge are slaughtering them selfs, first was the charger with 4 doors, that was more of a heavy semi luxuries sedan than a muscle car, and now no manual in the challenger? i mean come on get this shit right dodge. i wouldnt agree of turbos for a muscle car, superchargers are the way to go with american muscle

That's partially true. But what they're really aiming for is capitalizing on the nostalgia market that has already boomed for the classic car industry (see crazy Barrett Jackson auction prices).

People who grew up owning or wanting to own those cars and now are older and want to recapture some of their youth. And I guess they're making the assumption that these older folks probably want the ease of an automatic rather than the "work" of a manual.

damn old people, it pisses me off to see 70 something year olds driving the fastest cars in the world and not even reaching the speed limits of the road, i know that they have prob worked really hard for them and i do agree and recognize all of their hard work, but a person has to live while young, enjoy the youth and do crazy shit, thats the prob with modern day america we all work our selfs to death and dont enjoy our youth. wow i got really sidetracked

I'm equally disappointed in the crap the auto industry is putting out in general. It's all single-purpose vehicles. I'm scared to death that they will ruin the new Mazda6 from the rumors I'm hearing. It's like the auto industry does not care about people like me that want a practical performance car with style/attitude and amenities that doesn't cost more than the average American makes in a year.

Ditto, I really have no interest in anything american anymore. The main thing I don't like about my mazda is that some of the parts say FoMoCo on them. JDM is what's up.

True, the new Charger is a hood classic because of that luxury part all the drug dealers have them sittin on 22s. As far as turbos not being right for muscle I have to strongly dissagree though, grand national anyone?

Yeah... big disappointment here. No option for a manual transmission was dumb. I agree with SilverMS3, they are trying to sell cards to older guys who might have had one when they were young, older guys who probably would prefer to drive an automatic. That doesnt mean they couldn't have made it an option to get a manual though.

Dodge is really fucking it up. They have nothing going for them now as far as performance vehicles besides the Viper, but they certainly can't rely on that. The old SRT-4 was pretty popular, but everything I have read about the new one is that it is total crap.

Edit: A little birdie told me that they are putting the 3.7L V6 from the CX-9 in the new 6. That would make for quite the impressive sedan I bet.

That would be the very LEAST of my concerns, as I could budget to pony up a few grand more if I could get the car I wanted. There are rumors the car will be sedan only, which is bad enough since I totally love 5-doors. Even worse is the V6 engine may only be available with an automatic transmission.

I could be reasonably satisfied with a sedan, but I will not purchase a car with an automatic transmission. No V6/Manual combination would be a fatal design flaw that would automatically disqualify the vehicle from my consideration.

I think Mazda would be insane to do either, since the 5-door has sold well and the MTX was a substantial portion of Mazda6 sales.

I don't get why companies would not offer a MTX as a transmission option. Even on economy cars they are typically priced $500-1000 less than the automatic option, so there is a lot of room to mark up the price to make up for lower production volumes.

Personally, I would buy exclusively manual transmissions even if they were priced identically to autos. The lower price is just icing on the cake to me.

Well the original muscle cars WERE that heavy.... Maybe Dodge got a little carried away with making it TOO much like a muscle car...

Having manual transmissions is one of the reasons I like Japanese cars over American. It would be a bad move to offer only auto.

Also in reference to manual/automatic- the only way you'll see me buy an auto is if either that is all I can get, or I lose my clutch leg in a freak rollerskating accident.
